CHAPTER 42

[ C H A P T E R 42 ]

I was out of breath when I pulled my sword from the body of an assassin. Ramdam kong may tumutulong dugo sa aking noo dahil dumaan ito sa aking isang mata dahilan para manlabo ang aking paningin. At this point, I cannot stop thinking about how much pleasure this scenario is giving me. The amount of blood flowing out of their body is thrilling.

I heard a rumble from my back and a man galloped his way towards me as he lifted his spear for an attack. I moved my body swiftly to elude and hit his stomach with my feet as I turned over and pierced my sword on his back as it made a sound entering his flesh. Napahawak ako sa espada ko nang bumagsak ang katawan niya.

Sunod-sunod na naman ang dagundong ng mga assassin sa pag-atake sa akin. I moved fast to avoid their sword from hitting me as I would mine and killed them. Every time I kill, I sprint towards a carriage at the far end, and if it weren't for these rascals trying to kill me, I should have arrived a bit sooner.

Magnus said they are the latest trained rebels, but why do they move sluggishly? Bukod sa masakit ang ulo ko dahil nataaman ako ng isang bato kanina, at sa dumudugo kong balikat, wala naman akong ibang pasa ng espada o palaso. Did Magnus misinform me? Or their performance is poor and I expected too much?

An evil smile creeps on my lips when I march my way towards a carriage. Hinayaan kong makawala ang pagiging bayolente ko dahil wala naman akong proprotektahan sa mansyon na ito ngayon. No one will stop me, and there is only one person who does that. If my husband comes home, I must make sure that there are no living people in the enemy.

I shifted my body a little when I sensed the swift movement of an arrow coming in my direction. Kamuntikan mahagip ang balikat ko kung hindi agad ako umiwas. I revert my eyes towards the position of a man holding a bow. Nasa harap siya ng karwahe at bahagyang ngumisi ng magtama ang mga mata namin dalawa.

"It's been a while, Valentine," he said. "You've grown into a beautiful woman I never thought you would be, since we know how monstrous you are skin deep."

"Burton," I said with a monotonous tone.

There is only one person in my mind that always reminds me of the past I cannot escape. That scar on his face, almost made him unrecognizable, is the work of an assassin bearing the name Valentine, the black cat. It has been years since I last saw him, they even held a fake burial to pronounce him dead after I almost killed him.

Tinapon niya sa kung saan ang hawak na pana at hinugot ang kanyang espada na nasa kanyang likod. He didn't position himself to attack nor to defend, he just stood there like a statue with a grinning face. Wala ako sa katinuan ngayon kaya't sinugod ko siya. My sword clashed with his and he backed away a little because of the force. Mabilis siyang nakabawi at itulak ako ng pwersahan.

"You are truly a magnificent weapon, Valentine. Imagine, you killed all those rebels without falter, and you attacked me with such brutal force and again, without faltering. What is fueling you right now that you seem to be focused on wiping everyone who comes your way?" he asked as he walked on the opposite side of where I was walking. We are walking in a circle, trying to outsmart each other, and waiting for who will attack this time.

He is right, what is fueling me right now? All I can think is I want to see blood, I want him to bleed like the others. Iniisip ko rin na mas maganda kong mahati siya sa dalawa para bumulwak ang kanyang mga laman. Hindi ko na maintindihan ang nararamdaman ko, at mas lalong hindi ko maintindihan ang sarili ko.

All I ever feel is to satisfy my hunger, and I didn't think much of the consequences and just attacked him. Marahas akong napahugot ng hininga ng masugatan niya ako sa binti. I used my sword for support when I almost stumbled on the ground. Mas dumilim ang paningin ko dahil sa nararamdaman kong sakit, subalit mas umaapaw ang kasiyahan sa sistema ko.
