"Mikael told me that Elodie's cousins are in the Night Court staying at your parents' house," Calden remarked, dropping into the empty spot beside Lysander. He shifted his wings over the low back of the booth to make room for the male, while Zyon slid into the other side.It wouldn't be just the three of them for long, likely why Calden was bringing up the subject now. He was the one who'd suggested meeting Mikael, Estelle, and Sienna at the dancing hall in the city of Nimbus.
Lysander guessed it was partially to help him and Zyon become better acquainted before placing them both in the same house together. Regardless if that was Calden's intention or not, Lysander was grateful all the same. He hadn't been looking forward to an awkward first evening with just the three of them.
"They are," Lysander confirmed. "What else has he told you?"
"Basically everything. Why Wynter and Elodie wanted them to stay with your Court, what's going on in the Winter Court, and so on." Calden flagged a passing waitress and they gave her their orders. "How are they adjusting?" He asked once the waitress headed off.
"It was rough at first but they're doing better now."
Both males listened intently as Lysander explained the Rohese's time in the Night Court thus far. He left out a few details, such as what had happened between Mina and Corbin, and his own impromptu nighttime visits with Mitsi.
The waitress returned with their drinks while he was talking. Lysander waited until he'd finished before taking a sip. He relished the warm tingle that settled in his stomach. He'd needed this all day, especially after his run-in with Celeste.
There was a thoughtful gleam in Calden's blue eyes when he next spoke. "I'm glad they're all getting along with someone, even if it's different people. You're right, I am surprised about Devlon's interest in Micah, but it also makes sense in a way."
"He probably treats Micah differently than anyone ever has," Calden explained. "Maybe he understands him more, or is able to connect with him better. Micah has only ever grown up around females, aside from Wynter and Cyrus, and Devlon is about as different from those two as any male could be."
"And Devlon has two sons," Zyon pointed out. "Does Micah get along with either of them?"
"I'm not sure," Lysander replied. "I haven't seen him around Orion or Theron really. I suppose I'll have to pay attention when Orion and I go back during the next Exchange." His lips tilted into a smirk when he noticed three figures approaching them.
He raised his voice so that Estelle and Mikael would be sure to hear. "Of course, Theron is still on Aramis' heels whenever he comes to Windhaven and Aramis hasn't learned to accept the fact. He just yells at Theron and hopes he gets the hint."
Estelle rolled her eyes with a groan and sat down beside Sienna, who had claimed the spot next to Zyon. Calden scooted closer to Lysander to make room for Mikael on their side. "Your son isn't very sociable," Calden teased, shooting a pointed look at Estelle.
She reached across the table and swiped Lysander's drink, ignoring his scowl as she took a long draught. "That's where he takes after his uncle and grandfather," Estelle retorted.
"And he gets his arrogance from his mother," Lysander shot back.
"That was probably from me, actually," Mikael butted in. "My fathers have sided with Estelle against me on that one. I'm arrogant; she's proud."
Calden barked a laugh and draped an arm around Mikael's shoulders. "That sounds about right." Sienna and Zyon laughed to themselves while Estelle merely shook her head.
