Planning and preparations took over all of their days, Mitsi's especially. There was much to be done in the short time they had before the Spring Equinox. Colette, Viviane, and Ellie seemed to have a good handle on what should be taken care of and when, which brought Mitsi great relief.
The more they listed off what to do, the less she actually knew what needed to be done. Lysander was just as clueless as she was. The only assurance he could give was that he'd do whatever was asked of him. He did offer opinions on decisions quite regularly, although there was little for him to handle personally.
When neither of them were needed for a day or two, they'd taken to having Wynter or Kallias winnow them to the Night Court so they could attend to things there. So far, they'd moved the rest of Mitsi's things from her room at Seren and Azriel's into Lysander's house.
Mitsi had done a little redecorating around their home in her spare time as well. The house still held a distinctly male look, but with time, Mitsi was sure she could make it perfect for both of them and Lysander was willing to let her try.
She'd also consulted with Seren and Estelle on a few matters regarding the ceremony while they were in the Night Court. They were just as excited for it as Mitsi's own family, though they had fewer opinions to give. They merely offered suggestions as to where the ceremony and the celebration afterwards should be held.
Mitsi let Lysander choose the location of the ceremony and he'd done so gladly, but refused to tell her where he'd chosen. Only Colette, Cyrus, and Mina knew, aside from Lysander and his family. The fact made Mitsi slightly suspicious, but she was choosing to trust her mate on the matter and asked few questions.
She had been asked what flower arrangements she'd like the area to be decorated with though, and Mitsi was happy to relay her wishes to Venelia, who had promised to obtain the flowers for her.
For the celebration following, she'd decided they should just hold it in the courtyard of their home. It would look like a dream when spring came and the flowers bloomed and the fountain was bubbling again.
And as Lysander had pointed out, that would make it even easier for them to slip away whenever they wished, and prevent the others from lingering when they were no longer welcome.
The days moved on one by one until the Illyrian Blood Rite was past and Starfall had come. Mitsi and Mina spent the holiday in the Night Court at Lysander and Corbin's behest.
The shower of multi-colored spirits streaking across the sky had caught Mitsi completely by surprise. For days afterwards, she remained mesmerized by the sight, and Lysander promised her that she would see it again every year.
But with the passing of that celebration came the final days before the Spring Equinox, until at last, it arrived.

Mitsi woke in her room at Seren and Azriel's that morning and stretched her arms over her head, a smile crossing her lips. Warm sunlight drifted in through the balcony doors, and from the open window wafted the scent of fresh dew and blossoming flowers. Mitsi sat up as footsteps sounded outside the door just before it opened.
Colette, Mina, and Ellie breezed in, each carrying something. Mitsi didn't get to see what Colette and Mina had brought as they went straight into the bathroom. Ellie perched beside her on the bed and set a tray of food onto Mitsi's lap.
"Mother spare me," Mitsi groaned. "I'm too nervous to think about eating."
"Nervous?" Mina huffed, gliding back out of the bathroom. "What do you have to be nervous about? You're already mated. This is just a ceremony to signify it."
