Percy's POV
The monsters had charged right at my sister, the idiots. her platoon and herself had destroyed the first wave quickly. the plan had been thrown into Tartarus. Clarisse and her group moved west, Ariana and her platoon moved east, and everyone else charged north, planning to meet in the forest. The masked wizards started making the platform that they stood on the float, and Circe was casting a spell, the ripples of magic making the battlefield bubble with anticipation. I stabbed a monster, then moved to the cyclops who was throwing boulders into the fray.
This is not Tyson, I thought It is a monster who want to kill your friends. I managed to kill it, then plunged into the battle against whatever met my sword.
"Percy! we need you!" Reyna points to the lake "Four fighters just got thrown in, and their armor keeps them down!" She takes my place in the battle as I run to save them, making the lake spit them out and dry them off. they give me a quick nod of thanks before confronting a screeching emposai, who had convinced some fighters to drop their weapons and walk to the floating platform as batteries for Circe. they shook off their haze of charm speak, and pulled their wands, trying to pick off some of the masked wizards.
I saw Clarisse lead her battalion further into the monster's ranks, cutting them down while bathed in red, the blessing of Ares. Ariana was the only leader I couldn't see, but judging by the rate of monsters falling to my left, she was somewhere in there. I returned to my place between Reyna and Annabeth, who were guarding Hermione as she tried to sabotage Circe.
"Annabeth!" I called out
"Percy! Hermione thinks she knows how to stop Circe!" I tumble into the fray after cutting down a skeleton warrior.
"What have you got Hermione?" I parry a spear and kill the attacker
"I think she's casting a spell to summon more help. I have no idea what they want with the school, but if Circe is calling reinforcements, we're already outnumbered. I think we just need to cut the connection between her and the spell. from the looks of it, she carried enough ingredients to cast it once. we just need to cancel the casting before she completes it. can you get me up there?" She points to Circe's platform
"A group of students are currently trying to kill the wizards holding the platform in the sky. if it drops, will that disturb the casting?" I stab another skeleton
"Probably! just get me over there!" Hermione starts running, and Reyna, Annabeth, and I follow, protecting her sides. by the time we reach the students, they have picked off two of the five. two are shooting spells at them, trying to make them stop, leaving one to hold the spell. Hermione targets the wizard who can't protect themself and try to make the platform drop. the wizards notice this and one drops the fight to back up the other.
"This isn't working!" a student shouts
"Then fire for the one who is attacking us, and we'll pick off the other one's later!" Hermione shoots another spell to stun the attacker as Annabeth finishes off a hellhound.
Ariana's POV
I forgot how stupid monsters are. they watched me cut down twenty and they still kept coming. My platoon had some good fighters, and I was making steady progress in the forest. Circe was trying some weird magic with a big black hole in the sky... OH F**K I KNOW WHAT THAT THING IS! I gotta get to Percy, fast. I spot Clarisse and her battalion making progress in the forest.
"Hey! Nico! I gotta deal with the Circe problem" I throw him my trident (all the Leaders got a special weapon from camp) "So keep moving to the forest!" He nods and continues fighting. I pick up my pace and turn my ring into my sword, cutting down monsters as I run. I find Percy, Annabeth, and Reyna defending wizards who are trying to stop Circe. I join the protective circle
"Percy!" I shout over the maelstrom "I know what Circe is summoning!"
"What is she doing?" He manages to shout back
"She's summoning a Hellgate! is she completes the ritual, a portal to Tartarus will open, and all the monsters can freely flow in!" I kick a warrior "One of the components is monster dust or mortal blood! which means that if we fought, she gets monster dust. If we don't, she gets mortal blood. we lose either way" I slash an arrow aimed at Hermione
"What happens if we disturb the casting?" Reyna asks
"The gate collapses and nothing happens." I parry another strike
"And if she completes it?" Annabeth butts in
"It requires a human sacrifice to close" I finish
