Laswell stomped her way through the hallway, excusing some people, making sharp turns. She didn’t plan on stopping her track at all, even to greet some of her employees; her main focus was finally having the chance to reach General Shepherd this time.

When She arrived outside his office, she placed her ear against and heard him having a conversation. She immediately recognized the other’s voice.

“You told me that you were close to finding her, General. Yet, it’s been weeks, no updates at all.”

“Have you never been taught about patience? My men are still searching for her last known location but we don’t want to let word slip out about what happened or we’ll be in trouble with Greece. ”

“So what are you implying? That we should just leave her out there, barely clinging to life. Kate showed me the body cam footage!”

“What I am saying, Price, is that sometimes you can’t save everyone.”

The room went quiet after Shepherd’s statement. Laswell knew that if she didn't step in, things would end up nasty between the two men. She breathed in some courage before opening the door. Price and Shephard’s attention turned to her before she walked over and placed 3 folders on the General’s desk.

“These are…these are the files of the assassins who tragically lost their lives in Greece. Their bodies just arrived at the morgue some days ago.” She hesitantly announced, she didn’t want to read the names on the files before she got into another breakdown that consisted of cigarettes and strong liquor.

“Thank you, Kate. Although next time, I prefer you knock before entering. Have you notified their families about the situation?”

Just before Shepherd could dismiss her, Price walked up to the desk and snatched the files to read the names on them.

“John, What are you doing?” Laswell asked trying to get the folders back

“She’s not in these files which means she’s out there, Y/n could still be alive and this fucker won’t do anything about it, I will.”

“You’re wasting your time, Captain. What if you head over to Greece and she’s already dead, then what? She was well aware of the dangers of this mission.” The General scolded.

“And what about the chips? Last time I checked, you told her and her crew that they were completely functional.”

“You think when Eidson created the fight light bulb, it was completely functional? There are going to be trials and errors in life, John. Now if you would drop this discussion, it will save me from another headache.”

Price got dangerously close to the General and the only thing blocking him was the deck.

“That’s the problem with you, Shepherd. You always try to find the easy way out, to cover up loose ends. Y/n was nothing but a pawn to you after you promised me you would protect her!”

“She didn’t need protecting, she needed fixing! You of all people should know that!”

“Fixing?! She’s a fucking kid for Christ's sake, not some fucking machine!”
