Heart ache

Tapping her shoe to the floor Eleanor waited impatiently for her husband to come home. It was getting late now the sale of the fish to the fishery probably took longer than expected. Just as she was thinking she heard the door her husband knowing nothing was finally home.

Coming to his warm cosy home happily he would sit on table with his wife Sweeney entered the parlor. He walked in to his wife sitting at the table with a bottle of gin and drinking her glass empty. He didn't like for a minute her drinking while pregnant why did she do that it couldn't be healty. She needed this needed to drink so she could calm down.

"Nell" he aproached her so he could see her face. She was holding something familiar. Suddenly he felt like been caught when he saw her diaries in her hand. She raised her head and looked at him her eyes red she had been crying he could see her lashes were still wet.

She showed him the diaries "Did you read them?" Her voice came so utterly dissapioned, so betrayed he felt bad. He didn't know what to answer when he looked at her. "Did you read them?" She asked again when she couldn't get a answer. He nodded at her knowing she was angry with him, he knew she would it was therefor he hide them.

"Why?" She knew the answer she just wanted to hear it from him. She wated to hear the thruth why her husbad did such thing.

Her broken voice pained him he then couldn't lie nor could he try to do so. "Hear me out" he knew lately she acted more with her emotions than logicly thinking, her hormones were all over the place. Then again he also knew there was no explanation for what he did, sneakily reading in her diaries how could he explain that. He tried to find a way, to find the right words so that she would be the least affected by it. Now she is pregnant and the last thing he wanted was to get her upset and angry but it looks like he was way too late.

She looked at him as if wanting him to continue "I had read them because I wanted to know the truth" he started trying to tell why he did this. She was massaging her forehead. It was as if she was triyng to compose herself he knew it was for their child she tried to be calm.

"Pet just listen" he wanted to explain he wanted to tell her but she turned her back thowards him as soon as he aproached her. She didn't need to listen anymore, insulting her with wanting to know the truth about her past knowing this was enough for her.

"Did it statisfied you? Did it entertain you?" Now he knew everything he would be relieved wouldn't he? As a clever woman she knew why he read them she only didn't know why he kept them. "You didn't trust me for one minute did you? You always thought it was true!" She took the diaries from the table "This is why I can't trust you, you always hide something! Always is there something you won't tell me!" She turned around and held out the diaries to him. All she felt was being heartbroken, she felt like betrayed.

"Nellie listen"

She scoffed "Did you listen to me? Oh no why would you reading my diaries is better isn't it mr Todd! No it's disrespectful, I have never been humiliated this much! You have done worse than what Albert or Turpin did to me!" He didn't liked for a second beeing calling the same with those bastards and didn't like her calling him Todd either it's reminded him of the past.

"Listen I took them with me beceause they are a token of your love for me" it was true thanks to her diaries he knew what she felt for him all those years, he learned loving again thanks to her and her writings page after page how she missed him how she endured everything she had been trough just for the day he would return and set foot in her pie shop again.

"Don't talk to me about love, no one would do such thing to a loved one, it didn't hurt me that Turping called me a whore it hurted me that you thought it was true and treated me like one!" Now she was loosing her temper and started shouting at him her eyes forming tears.
