Sweeney hadn't closed his eyes for once waiting till night. He wanted to be sure his wife was above asleep in their bed and wouldn't come down to check on him. He'd been asking her the whole evening to sleep there but she said she wanted to sleep beside him. He opposed with telling her the little space made him worried for her comfort which wasn't a lie but when she told him she was fine laying beside him this time he finally lied with telling her his back was hurting a little knowing she would make sure for giving him the comfort he needed but what he couldn't think off was that she would be worried. She kept telling it was her fault that he was in pain now and she shouldn't have sit on his lap when he insisted her to. She blamed herself the whole evening for his back that was hurting and therefore he felt bad.

He threw the blanket of of him and looked at his feet, anxiously he kept staring at them. The tingling sensation in his feet that struck him a whole day wasn't going away. He closed his eyes for just a second afraid of failing, he inhaled deeply and when he opened them he tried to move his toes.

Not expecting anything to happen he took a sharp breath as his toe flexed forward a little. "Fuck!" he breathed out totally astonished at the move. His hands were shaking in shock, there wasn't much that could put him in that state but there he was completely in utter shock when he saw movement. For a moment he thought he was in a dream like those ones his wife always had. He really had given up hope and just was doing the exercises to please her, but now feeling and seeing this.. There was something happening!

He looked at the ceiling, how much he wanted this to share this with her, but for now it was too early he didn't know yet how much he would be able to move and he didn't want to get her hopes up for nothing so for now he was going to keep this a secret and doing the best he could to recover for the day it was worth to tell her.

"James" Nellie was looking anxious at him as he opened his eyes. He never used to sleep till this hour, not after he stopped with his medication anyway so she was afraid there was something and with him telling her his back was hurting again last night made her afraid something worsened in his condition. "Are you feeling well? Do you have pain?" She asked her voice full of concern again. Maybe it was his nightmares again that didn't allow him to sleep well. She had enough of it why wouldn't allow him a good night rest? Little did Nellie know that it wasn't nightmares that kept him up.

"How late is it?" He asked clearing his throat when he sounded so hoarse.

"You slept till noon." He never slept so long so she was concerned there was something going on and he wasn't telling her.

"Noon?" He hadn't expect to be that late, he'd closed his eyes thinking he would sleep an hour or two here he was making it noon.

"Yes, even Arthur is here." She pointed the boy that stood in the doorway at him. While he was sleeping she send Arthur twice to the bakery to bring two full baskets of pastries to Louise each time. She hadn't woke him up just because she wanted him to sleep as much he needed but it was getting late now.

"I'm alright just couldn't sleep" He didn't want to lie but he wasn't going to tell her he kept exercise till the early hours either or she would be over the moon and wouldn't see the fact that there wouldn't be more recovery. He also knew he shouldn't have said that his back was hurting now she was worried about him.

"Is it your back?" She tried to search for what kept him from his sleep but she couldn't make it out from his behavior so she blamed on the nightmares again.
