Reading his new book happy that he could finally sit and read comfortable on the settee Sweeney hadn't noticed Oscar jumping and settling himself between Nellie and him. He was in another world, the world of men and war as he was nearing the end of chapter one in his book. Nellie knew him and his taste really well and he loved that about her. He trusted without hesitation or doubt. On the contrary of her, he learned and discovered every time something else about her, she was full of surprises and that maybe was the reason how he was intrigued by her. He didn't know she could knit a blanket, he didn't know she could knit socks and a bonnet, yet every time she surprised him with something else. A week had passed now he was getting more on his feet now, walking around in house alone with his crutches. Nellie could swear he was becoming a totally new person, not that she was going to say that to him. After all trauma made him become a monster and maybe his last trauma was what made him heal from all of it. It didn't happen easily but they where managing and Nellie was gretaful for all of it.

"You think it resembles him?" Sweeney was snapped out of the world he was in, his concentration interrupted by the voice of his wife as she asked him by showing the drawing she made. Hours she spend now to draw Toby with the pencil in her one hand and the drawingbook she bought yesterday in the other. Now and then she will put her book on her belly and sigh not satisfied by the outcome. He didn't mind at least she was sitting and resting while keeping herself busy.

"Can you bring it closer?" He said narrowing his eyes on her drawing to see better as he was sitting in the other corner of the settee.

She frowned too, the last few days she saw him narrow his eyes more often when he looked in the distance and since she never experienced him doing that before she concluded his sight was going backwards."I think you're going to need spectacles soon." She says not wanting that to happen, but it wasn't the end of the world, he still will look as handsome as he does.

"I still can read." He showed her the book, shrugging it off as if there was no problem with his sight at all. Truth to be told he began to have a bit of eye strain, not that he was going to admid beceause he didn't want her to make fun of him and say he was getting old.

"I think you didn't hear about nearsightedness, love. Look how close you're holding the book." She pointed out not that she wanted to make a fuss about, maybe he just needed to let look at it.

He again shrugged her words off playing with the pages of the book in his hands while Nellie put the drawing down beceause she thought he wasn't gong to look at it anyway.

"Well I can still read and that's the only thing I have along with.." He suddenly closed the distance inbetween them and kissed her lips causing Oscar to jump on the floor from between them at the sudden move. "As long as I can see you I think there is no problem." He whispered kissing her neck and bossom making Nellie giggle against his lips as he started to kiss lower and lower. "You didn't look at my drawing." She whined like a child, her drawing still on her lap as she supported his head holding her left hand on the back of his head.

"Let me look." He took the open drawingbook and examined the drawing she made silently.

Sweeney didn't know on beforehand all kinds of emotions would wash over him looking at the picture. He felt guilty about the boys death, it was so sudden, so unexpected, he was so young and it was so unfair, he didn't know what to say right away feeling all sorts of things.

Nellie took his silence as negative, it was only when he shifted his eyes at her she got a hint of what he was thinking but she couldn't be sure. "And?" She asked him to give his opinion.
