"Victoria" Louise called her wraping her shawl over her shoulders while Nellie was bussy making pies kneading the dough like she was punching Sweeney, that was who she was thinking about remembering how the bastard was sleeping on the settee with his clothes still on and an empty bottle of gin pressed against his chest. If it wasn't her it was his second choice he lay with wich was alcohol.

"Victoria dear are you listening?" Louise repeated pulling her out of her thoughts "Oh sorry what did you say?" instantly her eyes turned from the dough to her like she wasn't the one lost in her thoughts and wiped her hands of on her apron.

"Are you alright dear?" Louise couldn't help feel a little concerned as she looked more tired and unhappy with the day clearly giving her off had not helped her. She wondered what the matter was she needed to be happy now she is with child she told her she always dreamed to be a mom so seeing her so unhappy an tired she wondered what was going on.

Eleanor was just about to wave it of but the look on Louise's face told her she couldn't protest anymore. "We had a fight" she finally cried not being able to hide it any longer. This situation made her a mess, being mad at him, being apart when she needed him the most made her miserable not to mention seeing Toby in her dreams.

"With mr Lewis? You want to tell?" Louise asks surprised she had a outburst like this, she always managed to compose herself when she was with her even if she was sad but now seeing her like this broke her heart.

"He read my diaries that I kept for more than 15 years and I just can't accept it, it hurts me." She was at the point she needed to tell someone someone she trusted, it was all to much she needed to get it out and this was what she could tell the baker. She couldn't tell her her husband thought she was a whore.

"Oh dear, that's not nice of him reading someone's diary without asking even though it's his own wife, that's you're secret place" Louise hugged her feeling sorry seeing her like this she suspected for days there was something bothering her even though she said she was alright she thought it was lack of sleep due to her pregnancy. Of course she didn't know his reasons and Nellie wasn't going to tell her that but she needed to talk to someone and lift this weight from her shoulders.

"It's not my place to tell you what to do and what to think but fighting happens in a marriage.. maybe he didn't mean harm maybe he wanted to know you better." that really was one of the reasons, he wanted to know what she had been through all those years when she waited for him she was right but the other reasons was what made it worse.

"You think like that?" He needed to ask her and not search her diaries behind her back. Maybe it would have hurted her less should she have found out earlier, now that she was married to him and expecting his child it was humiliating making her feel ashamed for something she didn't do. Times were hard for her really hard trying to stay a live with little to no money but she died rather than to sell her body.

"Did you ask him? What did he say?" Louise asks stroking her back to comfort her. It hurted Louise to see her cry, she had come to think of Nellie as a daughter, they spent almost every day together. She knew she had a pure heart and to see that break sadened her too. "He said he kept them as a reminder of my love for him" she blinked a couple of tears away. Should he have asked her she would have told him everything she kept no secrets unlike him.

Louise smiled "That's lovely, look I haven't seen Mr Lewis much but he loves you you can tell that." That was what she saw when she met him when he came to order a birthday cake for her he even knew she liked to eat scones and craved them. Even the day of her birthday when Nellie became so unwell it was as if his world had collapsed a man who really loves his wife would only be like that.
