Fighting against the raging waves, he tried to hold on to the boat for a long time despite the intense pain he felt on his lower back and his hands being cut by the rope he was holding. When the crashing waves tipped the boat over he tried to hold on to the rope that was fastaned to it. Unfortunatly he had to let go as it started to sank. He called David over and over. There was no voice or no sight of him only the sound of the chrashing waves and the thunder. Holding his head above the water trying to breath he tried to swim what he thought it was to the shore beceause he couldn't see anything. His legs and lower back did not cooperate due to the excrution pain he felt beceause he had slipped backwards and landed hard on his back on the boat. He thought about his Nellie who was awaitintg him home with his baby, their baby that wasn't even born yet, what would they do without him? Trying to move in the ice cold water he groaned out a sound mixed with pain and anger to his fate.

He opened his eyes breathing quick his chest going up and down covered in sweat as he woke up from his nightmare. The same nightmare he repeatedly has since it happened. Trying to calm down his breathing he closed his eyes for a second and opened them as soon as he came to the realisation there was no one talking to reassure him, no warm hand covering his. He furrowed his brows and heaved his head up to look around. There was no Nellie, the hospital room was empty and instanty he felt dissapiontment and abandonmend. He had been hallucination after all..

The nurse came in the room placed a plate on the table and walked over to his side. "Mr Lewis you're awake" she says surprised seing him awake like this. He was breathing heavely given the trauma and pain he felt. The woman took the bottle of medication and poured it out on a spoon "Your medication" she placed the spoon to his lips. Without resisting he took his medication followed by a second spoon which he also took.

With some hope he wanted to ask her anyway, maybe they hadn't give Nellie notice yet and she didn't know he was here, maybe she visited while he was unconscious. He didnt know the only thing was he hoped Nellie knew he was here "Sister, my wife" he uttered with his hoarse voice knowing the nurse would know if Nellie had been there.

"You're wife is with doctor Greenhow, he's examining her." She answered him directing her attention on placing the medication aside. Before Sweeney could give a reassured breath that she was there a feeling of anguish and apprehension captivated him totaly with the answer she gave him. Why was the doctor examining her? Had something happened? Was she ill? Was there something with the baby? He forgot about himself thousand of questions going through his head. He tried to move in to an sitting position so he could come out of bed even though the doctor instructed him not to.

"Mr Lewis please don't move it'll only hurt you." The nurse tried to calm him down and lay him good in bed as she turned her attention to him and saw him trying to move out of bed. He needed to be careful for his back.

Sweeney wasn't in a state of thinking about himself he thought of his pregnant wife. "Is she.. alright? The baby? AAGH!" He groaned in pain while asking worried of something happened to them. Failing to his attempt to getting out of bed he fell back clenching his jaws to the same imensly pain.

"Don't be alarmed sir he's just looking how the pregnancy is progressing." She put the pillow under his head so he would be more comfortable. "She's alright never left you're side since yesterday, even has a bed here." She pointed him the bed so he would be more reassured and it worked when he looked at the bed against the wall on his right. He gave a breath of relieve, she was really here and hoped they're alright. Swallowing a couple of times he tried to calm his breathing while his body was still tense from the pain he was feeling.

Laying on the stretcher Nellie was shaking her foot anxiously looking at doctor Greenhow who was going through his medical instruments. She didn't want to leave Sweeney alone and was thinking of him the whole time but the doctor insisted to examin her after her breakfast and she couldn't say no as she promised him to stay in return with Sweeney.
