He watched from his car. He knew that it was ridiculous, and it was certainly the last thing that he had expected would happen when he left the States, but here he was; for the fourth time this week, waiting for her the leave the Garrison. Wanting to make sure that she got home safely, as she left after a long day of working behind the bar of the Shelby's pub.

He could understand why Tommy Shelby had hired her. She was beautiful, ample in all the right areas and overall, just perfect. Luca sure that she would draw many a man into the establishment. And with that smile, she would keep them drinking for the rest of the evening, all hoping that she would leave with them at the end of the night.

In truth, Luca had never actually spoken to her, never actually met her. He had sent some of his men out to keep an eye on the Shelby's business dealings. One of them returning and telling the son of Vicente, that they believed her to be the girl of one of the Shelby brothers. Luca sure that she was something that could be used to hurt his rivals when the right moment came. But with a few more questions...........or should that be with a few more threats and a little violent coercion, Luca discovered that in truth, the young woman, called (Y/n), merely work for the brothers and nothing more.

He had been about to brush her off. About to ignore the information that he had got on the young woman. Yet one evening, he had found himself thinking, found himself unable to sleep. The Italian-American mobster, getting in his car and driving to the Garrison. Ducking down as he saw a woman appear from the darkness of the pub. Luca's eyes grown wide as he saw her move under the glow of the streetlight, her beauty obvious even from a distance. The tall, slender gangster not sure who she was, until the man that that had locked the doors to the pub called her (Y/n), and told her to be careful. Luca from that moment finding himself obsessed with the beautiful creature. Having his men find out when she would work, so that he could follow her home, and make sure that no one hurt her.

                                                                 >>---------------------------------<<

"Night Harry..................." A voice called out. Luca looking up to see (Y/n) making her way out of the door. Pulling her coat a little tighter around her form, as the cold night air began to bite.

"Night, sweetheart.........You sure that you don't want me to walk you home.......?"

"No, I'm fine. I'm a big girl if you haven't noticed..........."

"Oh, I've notice. Could really miss it really..........." Harry chuckled. Shielding himself, as (Y/n) slapped him playfully on the arm.

"Cheeky sod. Get off home.............." (Y/n) laughed, shaking her head, and giving Harry a small smile before turning and heading down the road. Waving as he bid her another good night.

                                                         >>-------------------------------<<

(Y/n) made her way down the dark and deserted street. It was obvious that it had been raining not long before. The cobblestones were shimmering under the periodic streetlights, giving the usual boring, grey town a magical appearance.

It had been a good night really. There had been a sort of party feeling in the Garrison. People dancing, singing and just enjoying themselves; and though it had bought in a few unfamiliar faces that thought some not-so-subtle comments, would encourage her go home with them at the end of the night, it wasn't anything that she wasn't used to. Men that thought she was easy because she worked behind a bar, being sort of an occupational hazard. (Y/n) able to laugh most of the remarks off as she normally would. But that said, there had been one man. A man that he made some remarks that were a little less than complimentary, that were a little more explicit than she had liked. It obvious that Harry hadn't liked them either. The barman going and speaking to Arthur; Harry pointing the man out, before the oldest Shelby had got to his feet and made his way over. Arthur having a few choice words for the man. Forcing him to look at (Y/n) and apologise for what he had said, before Arthur had thrown him out onto the street. The former Sapper warning him in no uncertain terms that he better not come back. Arthur making sure that she was alright, before returning to his drink. But other than that...............she had actually enjoyed her night in the busy bar.

Suddenly she stopped. Turning on her heels as she heard a noise. It was true that she was used to the walk from the Garrison to her home. That she was used to making it at this late hour. That she was used to hearing bin lids crash to the ground due to the stray cats that wandered the dark streets. Or the dogs that would begin to bark for no apparent reason. But this..........this was something a little different. Something that made her feel very uncomfortable.

"Hello...................?"

"Is there anyone there...............?" (Y/n) called out. Feeling her heart begin to beat a little faster as the air remained silent. Standing there for a few more moments, before she pushed her hands deep into her pockets and starting back down the street. Her pace a little quicker than it had been before. The sound of her heels on the stones echoing as she went. (Y/n) having turned too soon to see the shadow that had been following her since she had left the Garrison. A shadow that continued to follow her. A shadow that had less than the best intentions. But it was also a shadow that hadn't realised, was itself being followed. This second shadow gripping at the hilt of the gun in its pocket. Following at a suitable distance, ready to strike if anything were to happen to (Y/n).
