"How tha fuck did I let you talk me into this, Thomas." Alfie asked from the passenger seat of the car. Tommy allowing a small smile to pull at his lips, as he and the London gangster made their way out of the town. The dark streets of Small Heath being replaced by something a little greener, a little fresher.
"If you remember, I didn't talk you into anything, Alfie. I told you I had to speak to someone that might be able to help us with business, and you insisted on coming with me.........." Tommy noted, shaking his head slightly, as Alfie let out a huff, before turning his eyes back to the new green view.
Alfie wasn't sure how someone in the place they were heading for, could help them with business; but for once he was going to leave this to Tommy. Well...........he wasn't going to leave it so much that he didn't want to be there to see what this was all about, but still.............the thought was there.
Tommy had told Alfie that the circus had come to town, and that the owner of said circus, one Sheamus Delaney had a connection to his family and would be happy to help with anything he might need. Alfie therefore putting all this down to the gypsy thing. That perhaps just like with Aberama Gold, it was something to do with a new boxer. But Tommy was being annoyingly circumspect; and despite himself, Alfie was intrigued. The scene before him suddenly filled with the sight of a huge red and white striped tent, as the car moved to the top of the hill.

"(Y/n)!" A voice called out. The woman turning to see Sheamus coming over to where she was sat, sewing up Harold's costume.
"Has he torn it again...........?"
"Yep, every time he bends over to pick up the weights, he pulls on the old stitching. I think that I am just going to have to make him a new outfit." (Y/n) replied, as she placed the strongman's costume to one side. Sheamus nodding in agreement, despite not liking the idea of having to spend money for the material. But he knew better than to argue with the beauty. The older man well aware that she was the glue that kept the troupe together. That the others would go to her before they would even think about going to see him.
She wasn't the first oddity that he had found in his time, but when he had come across her, she had certainly been the youngest. An urchin that he had seen working in the London docks, when he had gone to retrieve the tiger that he had been waiting months for. But it wasn't that that was unusual, there were many children that worked in and around the docks of the capital. What was unusual, was the fact that the young girl had been painted. Her arms, hands and neck covered in pictures. The businessman in Sheamus instantly seeing that he could make money from the girl. That she could join the rest of his oddities as the 'painted girl'. And so, she had. The young girl now a handsome young woman covered from neck to toe in art. The beauty, the one attraction that would keep the local men coming back time and time again, while the show was in town.
"Do you remember Thomas Shelby from tha last time that we were in town?" Sheamus asked, as he took a seat next to her on the bale of straw.
"Oh, the handsome one with the icy blue eyes...........? Couldn't really forget that one.............." (Y/n) chuckled, as she recalled the man. This Thomas Shelby, as well as his brothers that had joined him, having made quite an impression on all the women in the troupe.
"I thought ya only had eyes for Giovanni..........." Sheamus replied with a chuckle, as he looked over to where the lion tamer was currently dealing with a rather surly lioness.
"Only in his dreams. Personally, I think that he's more interested in his animals than he could ever be in a human. Now, why are we talking about Thomas Shelby............" (Y/n) interrupted, doing her best to change the subject.
"Well........he's comin here ta talk about some business............"
"So, men are always coming to see you about business; and its not the first time Tommy has done that................"
"Aye, but its not Tommy that I want to talk to you about. I got a message from him that he might be bringing someone else with him, and well Tommy wants to have our meeting in private. So................."
"So, you want someone to keep this other man busy.............?"
"Aye................"
"And you want this someone to be me, do you...............?"
"Well, can you think of anyone better? All you have to do is show him around, answer any questions that he might ask, while Tommy and I talk............"
"Oh, that was the only thing that I was going to do. You want anything more than that, you can find yourself another girl. You might push me out onto a stage, half naked, on a nightly basis, Sheamus, but I am not a whore." (Y/n) retorted, as she got to her feet, and grabbed Harold's costume.
"Hey, I didn't say ya were. It's just that I can't ask any of tha others. Ya the smart one, and I trust ya. I've never met a man that ya couldn't bamboozle with that smart mouth a yours; that, and this man is supposed ta be from London, so.............."
"Fine! But if he gets handsy, I promise you that I'll punch him. Either that, or I'll feed him to one of Gio's lions." (Y/n) said, Sheamus getting to his feet and pulling her into his arms.
"I wouldn't expect anything else lass............." The circus own told her. The pair moving apart, as a car came trundling towards them.
"Looks like they're here..........." Sheamus added. (Y/n) pulling her collar right up around her neck and reaching for her gloves, as the vehicle pulled to a stop. The painted lady watching as Tommy and a tall, broad man climbed out of the car. Sheamus nodding to her, before they made their way over to greet the two men.
