"John!" Curly called out with a grin, as John made his way further into the stables, doing his best to avoid stepping in the horse shit. The younger Shelby smiling at (Y/n), only for her to turn her back on him and return to concerning herself with the horse. The dark gelding suddenly much more interesting than it had been before.
"What you doin here? Look (Y/n), its Johnny........" Curly continued, as John got to the pair.
"Curly..............(Y/n)............" John replied. Doing his best to sound like his normal self, despite the fact that the woman that he had finally realised he loved, apparently still didn't want anything to do with him.
"(Y/n)......look.........." Curly continued, as he moved to her side, and pointed over to where John stood.
"I don't need to look, Curly; I know who it is.............."
"You and Johnny can be friends again now............" The big man added with one of his usual strange chuckles. (Y/n) letting out a sigh, as she looked up at him. The female Peaky not wanting to hurt his feelings, but................"
"I don't feel like being his friend at the moment. In fact, we might never be friends again. Now, I think I should go............."
"But Arthur said he was comin back for ya later................."
"He did, but I've changed my mind. I feel like going for a walk. When he gets here, tell him I will see him for dinner, later." (Y/n) explained. Patting the gelding on the neck, before turning to Curly and kissing him on the cheek. The female Peaky then making her way out of the stable, without even looking to John.

(Y/n) felt sick, as she made her way through the gates of the yard. Admittedly, not as sick as when she had yet again found John fucking yet another woman; but still. Being mad at Johnny was harder than she had thought it would be, not talking to and avoiding someone that you normally spent every day with, was making her head hurt. In truth, all she really wished, was that that night hadn't happened, and she and the younger Shelby could be doing what they normally did. That she could be laughing at him, when he did or said something that was dumb. That she could be sat in a bar, drinking and talking shit while they played cards. The mischievous sparkle never leaving his eyes, as the night drew on. But here she was, alone; and as much as she really did appreciate Arthur's plan, at this moment it felt as though Johnny would never be anything but blind to her. That she had not only lost her best friend; but also, any chance that there could have ever been something more between them. A heavy sigh leaving her lips, as she continued on her way down the street, thinking that perhaps alone wasn't a bad thing, as at least she would be able to think. (Y/n) suddenly finding her arm caught from behind, before a hand was placed over her mouth and she was pulled down an alleyway. Her back pushed up against a wall, and then........and then............
>>-------------------------------------<<
"John..............." Curly said, as he and John watched the female Peaky make her way out of the stables, and then out of the yard.
"What did ya do.........?" The stable boy and ferryman continued. John pulling his cap from his head and combing his fingers though his hair.
Alright, he knew that this was going to be difficult, (Y/n) could be stubborn and on the right day, she had a temper that could rival Arthur's, though thankfully, she didn't have the same right hook. And yes, alright, he deserved it; he deserved her being angry at him, he deserved her threatening to shoot him, he deserved that and so much more. But, and although it had only been a few hours since he woke to the news that his best friend was now his older brother's girl, he already missed her. He had missed sitting across the table from her at breakfast; he had missed her when he had been at the bar. He had missed her when he should have been doing what Tommy had asked him to do today. And the thought of missing her like that every day; of only seeing her when she was with Arthur, when she was in his arms, was making him feel all kinds of ways, and none of them were nice. John scrunching up his eyes, as a sudden image of walking in on Arthur and (Y/n); of hearing her moaning as Arthur............
"John............" Curly's voice thankfully interrupting his thoughts.
"Aren't ya goin after her............?" The big man continued. John standing there for a moment, before placing his hat back on top of his head.
"Yeah. Yeah, I am." John replied. Pulling his long coat around himself, before making his way out of the stable. Curly watching as he then made his way to the gates of the yard; the big man just shaking his head, before going back to mucking out the stalls.
>>---------------------------------<<
John made his way quickly out of the yard. Even if (Y/n) had been running, she couldn't be that far away, yet which way she had gone, that was the question. The female Peaky, apt to be a little unpredictable, when she was upset. And despite the fact that she hadn't looked at his properly, he had seen that look in her eyes; the one that he would see every time she was close to tears. John knowing there was only one thing that he could do, and that was pick a street, and hope for the best. The younger Shelby, letting his feet lead the way. A grin coming to his lips as after a few minutes of speedy walking, he could see her not too far ahead of him. John quickening his pace all the more, in order to catch up with her, weighting up the options in his mind as what his next step should be; it seeming to him that he could only take one course of action. And so, as he came up behind her, he quickly reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her to him, so that he could place his other hand over her mouth, and then move her down into an alleyway. John not wanting to give her a chance to call him what he really deserved to be called, that, or pull out a gun, as he pushed her up against a wall, and then..........and then............
