She sat back in her chair and watched, as the door closed behind the three men. She was taking a calculated risk on Shelby and Solomons. Both men had issues, the war had seen to that; or at least helped with that. And damaged men were not only unpredictable, but dangerous too. But these were the men that were rising from their modest beginnings, rising and making waves in the old order. So, she had to take a chance. Though she would watch them; if she was going to extend a hand, she was going to make sure that it wasn't going to get bitten off.
Slowly, she got up and moved over to the window that looked over the darkened gardens at the rear of the grand home. It had taken her a long time to get to this point. She had started with nothing, but done all that she had to, to rise to the top. She had educated herself, taught herself how to speak and act properly, which knife and fork to use, and when. She had learnt how to dress and how to fit in with all those that thought that they were her betters, so that it was a point that they would not notice that she had not been born one of them. And now, she had them all in the palm of her hand. She the puppet master, pulling the stings of the great, and not so good. And given that, there was no chance that she would allow Thomas Shelby, nor Alfie Solomons, to take her down. So, it was better to seem as though she were on their side, that she was there to help. She would take all the information that she could get, and give little in return; so, if the time came to end her offer of help, neither man would have anything to hold over her head.
"Ma'am............." An urgent voice suddenly came. (Y/n) turning to see that Henry had made his way back into the room. The Professor not sure how long she had actually been looking out into the dark world that lay beyond the panes of glass.
"Henry................?"
"My apologies ma'am for not knocking; but I think that you need to come with me........Edward............he appears to have an issue with one of your guests............."
"Who.............?"
"Mister Solomons, ma'am..........." The butler told her. (Y/n) quickly making her way out of the room and back to the party. The anger inside of her growing, as she saw the scene. Thomas Shelby doing his best to hold back the London gangster, while a few of her own men held back Edward. The Professor feeling her fists clench, as the man that had not been working for her for too long, continued to shout at her guest.
"Enough!" (Y/n) called out loudly, as she made her way into the room. The rest of her guests looking on, as she made her way over to Edward. The man staring wide eyed, as his got to his side.
"I................"
"Apologies..............." (Y/n) interrupted, as she moved so that she could talk quietly to him.
"But................"
"You will apologise to Mister Solomons now. I don't care what issues you might have with him; he is my guest, and as such, will get your respect for as long as he in my home. You will apologise to him, and everyone else..........now..........!" The Professor warned. Edward feeling his mouth dry, as he saw the look in the woman's eyes.
"My........my apologies.......sir............." The short, rather stocky Edward began, before apologising to all the others present.
"Mister Solomons, I do hope that you will also accept my own apology for this............." (Y/n) added, as Alfie straightened himself, now that Tommy had let him go. The Professor smiling slightly, as he nodded.
"Come with me.........." She continued, as she turned her attention back to Edward. The expression on his face turning to one of fear, as he looked between the others that worked for the lady, and the lady herself. The man knowing that he had little choice. Tommy and Alfie looking at one another, as the door to the room closed behind her and the man.

"I've heard that soda water helps............." Someone said, as (Y/n) stood next to a rather handsome, black stallion; her hand gently brushing over the muscles of its neck and flank. The Professor turning to see that both the Londoner and the Brummy, had made their way into the stable.
"With what..............?"
"Tha blood on ya dress............." Alfie explained, before (Y/n) looked down and saw the spots of crimson on her clothes.
"Ah, yes. Thank you." She replied, before she left the black Arabian and made her way over to them.
"Where is he.............?" Alfie continued, as he looked her up and down. Neither he nor Tommy having to question what had happened to the man. Both of them having seen that look in a man's eyes before; the look that showed he knew that his demise was imminent.
"There is a pig farm that is part of my property. You would be amazed at what those creature will eat, and how quickly they will eat it. They don't normally leave much........perhaps some bone, a few teeth. But other than that............" The Professor replied, as she smiled at the pair. Tommy sure that he had never been more intrigued by a woman, and Alfie sure that he had never been more turned on.
"Now, perhaps you should get back to the party, while I find myself some soda water. And then.............when everyone is gone; we might discuss my earlier proposition..............."
