Whumper had Whumpee committed to an asylum and dictated to the doctor what treatments they wanted to see occur. They get their thrills by visiting Whumpee and seeing them become more haggard and less in touch with reality by each visit.
Caretaker is a nurse/orderly who sees this occurring over time and sees that the doctor was bribed by Whumper and tries to shelter Whumpee from the worst of it. The doctor realizes Caretaker is onto them and has Caretaker fired for a bogus reason. On Caretaker's last shift, they break Whumpee out.
Will it end in Caretaker and Whumpee going on the run together? Or will it end in Whumpee and Caretaker (Whumpee 2) being trapped in the asylum for the rest of their lives?
