I have some cue phrases to let people know I'm not having a good day without saying it to protect the feelings of others and give them an out if they can't deal with me having a difficult time. When you ask me "how are you?" and I answer "making it work" that is a cue for you to either chuckle and get the hell away or for you to inquire more.
So what if Whumpee has a phrase like that. What if they used that phrase to try and ask for help around Whumper and the only person who could understand was Caretaker?
