Whumpee was kept in the dark for months and now that they've been rescued, they can't stand the dark, but they can't sleep in a fully lit room.
Whumpee complained of this to Caretaker while in the hospital.
Caretaker spent that night buying nightlights in bulk. Every room had at least one. Every hallway was lit. There were Fairy lights everywhere.
The house was lit up just bright enough that Whumpee could see everything around them but dark enough to get the rest they so desperately needed. Whumpee got out of the car a few nights later at Caretaker's house to a Fairy Light Wonderland. The lights sparkled in Whumpee's tearful eyes as they looked over at Caretaker.
"Is this.. all because of me?"
"It's not because of you, it's for you."
