Whumpee has developed nervous tics due to their trauma. They excoriate their fingers and cause themselves to bleed at times. Caretaker gets them dermatillomania gloves to protect their fingers because it hurts Whumpee and it hurts Caretaker to see Whumpee hurting. It keeps them from hurting themselves physically and from feeling embarrassed in social settings when Caretaker has to remind Whumpee to stop picking their cuticles and skin.
