Caretaker rescues Whumpee because they have a hole in their heart that they hope they can fill by being the perfect savior. This, of course, doesn't happen because being a caretaker is much harder than it looks. Especially when Caretaker walks into the Caretaking Organization office and demands to be given the most traumatized patient and won't stop until they get them.
Cue difficult bandage changes, sleepless nights, fighting when Caretaker wants to hold Whumpee and Whumpee doesn't want to be touched or other way around, where Whumpee just wants to be held and Caretaker only wants the glory of rehabbing someone.
Finally, when Whumpee gets taken away by the Organization, Caretaker bitterly goes back to their life with the same hole in their heart but this time, the hole feels bigger.
Whumpee, on the other hand, is relieved to have a new Caretaker and can finally begin their healing process.
