Whumpee came to New Country with no friends or family and had to start a new life on their own for whatever reason. They met Whumper who took them under their wing but slowly became more manipulative and mean, would "take care of things" for Whumpee like government papers and forms, leaving Whumpee in the dark and therefore bound to Whumper. Whumper kept Whumpee in line by making fun of them constantly and threatening to kick them out, leave them homeless, and report them to the government to have them deported for fake reasons. Whumpee became housebound and realized this was not the new, free life they were hoping for.
