Arianne
"Why am I here?" Aaron groans.
He's been complaining the entire day. Ella wanted to help me get school supplies and forced Aaron to come with us because she wants us to get comfortable with each other.
Aaron and I are just awkward.
"You're here because I made you come" Ella tells him.
I let out a silent laugh.
Aaron probably heard it because he started glaring at me. God he's so childish.
I grab a couple notebooks from the shelf and made sure I get one extra notebook for all subjects. I always do that but end up using that notebook for anything but school related.
I place the notebooks in the cart. Same cart Aaron's pushing. He rolls his eyes at me, I dismiss it instead of reacting because I don't have the time to deal with him right now.
Turning back to Ella I realize she's not here. She was standing next to me two seconds ago and now she's no where near me. I look at the aisles near by to see if she's there but she isn't.
Aarons just follows me not knowing what I'm doing.
"Where's your mom?" I ask him.
"She went to get some decor" he answers.
I let out an 'oh'. Okay now this is awkward there's nothing to say or do.
And normally Aaron would be on his phone ignoring my existence but he's just staring. I open my mouth to say something but Aaron interrupts.
"You do realize by the end of the semester you'll notice you only used one thing." He says pointing at the stuff in the cart.
I laugh.
"I like to be prepared." I tell him.
"Ah prepared. You're way too excited for school" he points out sounding very disappointed.
"Well not everyone gets to experience going to football games and parties every Saturday" I explain.
"Parties? You watch way too many movies" he laughs not the kind of laugh I like.
"It's not like the movies?" I crease my eyebrows in confusion.
"Honey, when has anything been like the movies?" He points out.
Good point.
"Why're you so gloomy?" I tease.
Aaron bites the corner of his lips and rolls his eyes at me.
"Why're you so cheerful?" He raises an eyebrow.
"You only think I'm so cheerful because you're gloomy" I cross my arms together.
Aaron doesn't get the chance to talk back because Ella comes back with the stuff she got.
Goddamn she brought a lot.
She places them in the cart and gives Aaron a push to move. After we checked out we went back to the car. Ella started playing her songs to which Aaron kept making fun of. Aaron here seems so chill. Yes he's making fun of his mother but he doesn't look at stiff as he normally does.
One thing that didn't change is that he still pisses me off.
His remarks, his dry replies, his attitude, he also smells really good.
~~~
My legs anxiously bounce up and down as Aaron gets closer to the school. Now that this is actually happening I'm getting a lot more nervous.
