Arianne
I hand my customer her drink wishing her a good day. She smiles at me handing me cash to pay and walks away. Today's shift has been pretty packed.
Lucy decided to make a bunch of discounts and now it's full at 10 in the morning.
I check my watch to see how much I have left and see that in no where near being done. But hey, at least I'm done with cashier duty.
Ronald taps my back telling me it's his turn and I quickly move over to the coffee machines my favorite part of the day. When I first started here it took me ages to get the hang of these machines.
I would finally understand how to use one but the others work completely different. It was torture.
But look at me now I'm a pro at this.
I leave the counter and walk over to the pretty boy sitting at the corner of this place and studying with headphones on.
I sit across from him smiling. He doesn't look up acknowledging me. I grab the pen in his hand and grab his attention.
When he finally looks up and realizes it's me he pauses his music and takes off the headphones.
"Hey,"
"Hi I'm on my break so you should get one too" i tell him.
He rolls his eyes, more at his book than me.
"Aaron you've been studying since I started the shift. That's four hours," I add.
"This is killing me. I don't know many more bonds i can fit in my brain," he puts both his palms on his forehead stressing.
This is why I hate chemistry.
"Why'd you even choose ap chem?" I asked him.
"Because I'm an idiot who thought I'd have an academic comeback," he stresses out.
More like an academic victim.
"I have two more lessons. I'll be done by the time your shift is done," he promises.
I think he's trying to convince himself rather than me.
"Fine do you need anything?" I ask getting up from the booth.
"I'm a bit hungry," he tells me.
I mess with his hair a bit before placing a kiss on the top, "I'll make you something."
He smiles up at me and I start walking back.
I don't go behind the counter but instead to the cashier. It feels weird being on this side.
"Hey Ron can you add a French toast and cortado? On me," I tell him.
"Yea alright," he nods pressing buttons on the screen. I raise up my phone to pay and go back to the machines and chill for a bit before I start working again.
After about ten minutes Aaron's order was ready so I called him over to go get it. Lucy would kill me if I left my spot not on my break.
