"I am telling you I will die from starvation," Tessa groaned dramatically as the car door creaked open, and we tumbled out onto the pavement, stretching our tired legs after what felt like an eternity on the road. "My mom's on this insane diet, and there's not a single snack left in the house."

I rolled my eyes, she's been whining the entire ride here. Lana chuckled besides me. Today is the day we've been looking forward for all year. Dress shopping. I mean sure we are a little too late to be shopping for prom right now but I'm sure it wont be much of a struggle. But first, Tessa's rumbling stomach demanded attention.

"Well did you try to tell your mom that you don't want to participate?" Lana asks her.

"Of course I did but living with my mother is literally impossible. My siblings and I have been sneaking food in for the past two weeks" She complained walking ahead of us.

This is quite amusing I've never seen Tessa this frustrated. We all just follow her knowing that she's going to lead us to the food court. The outlet we're at is different than the ones we normally go to and according to Amy it has the best stores for prom dresses. I've made like three different inspiration boards on Pinterest for what I want my prom dress to look like.

Growing up watching all those American movies and seeing them get to go to these fancy parties for there school was torture. I envied each and every one of them. I wanted to wear those dresses, get asked out, and dance. It seemed like a fairytale.

The most my school did was give us a fun day which consisted of a broken popcorn machine and music from the time of the dinosaurs. Those fun days were literally our opportunities to not go to school. But now I get to participate in the fairytale.

"Oh my god this is heaven" Tessa sings as she stops at the very much big food court.

I can't lie this place will get you hungry even if you aren't and I so am. We agree on splitting up each person goes to get whatever we want and we meet again in the middle to find a table.

"Hey guys I'll look for a table and wait," Amy announces.

Tessa frowns, "you don't want to get food?"

"Nah I ate before I came"

She shrugs and says something about ordering from ever fast food place.

I wait for Amy to find a table so I know where she is before I begin looking for a place to eat. Lana catches up to me.

"I'm gonna get some Wingstop wanna come with?" She asks.

"Oh hell yeah"

Wingstop is literally another thing these Americans are privileged to and I am so mad at everyone for not telling me about this place earlier. I found out about it like a month ago ordering takeout with Aaron. Didn't talk to him for like an hour because of how betrayed I felt.

We gathered our food and eagerly returned to our table, only to find Tessa already there, hungrily devouring her Mexican meal. I guess her hunger was no exaggeration. Once we had all finished our food, we set off for our first dress shop. It was run by a young woman who seemed just a few years older than us. She was busy helping another customer, so we decided to explore the store on our own.
