Arianne

It's been a week since we got back from the trip. As much as I dreaded it schools starts again. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful for this opportunity but come on, it's school.

"Clean up and then you can be off" Lucy said, taking off her apron.

I decided to help Lucy open up today before heading to school. I haven't exactly been good at coming to work but Lucy has been really understanding.

I nodded at her and began to wipe the tables.

By the time I had finished, Aaron was already here to pick me up. I grabbed the cup of coffee I had made him and walked out. That guy barley gets any sleep sometimes I wanted to do something nice since he's always picking me up.

"Here" I handed him the cup.

He smiled at the gesture and took it out of my hand, "thank you, Aria."

I waved my hand in the air, brushing him off. "No problem."

The drive was silent, comfortable silence. Something really common between us now. I'm still mad at myself at thinking about him differently now.

I came here with one job and one job only, focus on school.

So when Aaron parked the car, I got out before he had the chance to start a conversation.

I made my way to my first class and to my surprise I wasn't the first person to arrive.

A couple of students were already seated with their heads down. Some were revising- revising? Why?

Shit.

Shit shit shit.

I had a test today. It had totally crossed my mind. My face is probably red by now.

I grabbed a seat and quickly took out my book. Maybe if I just quickly revised I can still manage to pass?

A paper fell out of my book. It's the paper Aaron wrote for me to help me with the subject. I smiled remembering that night. My smile grew bigger when I realized the test is on that very lesson. Along with so other lesson but at least I knew one of them.

I took out my notebook and began writing notes.

The test never ended up being easy and that's on me. I just hope I don't get a C. Lunch came around and Lana texted me to meet them outside. She told me earlier in a class that we should all sit together.

A smile lights on my face when I spotted them from a far.

"Oh my god I need a break" I groaned, as I took my seat.

They all laugh.

"Welcome to America" Lana joked.

I glared at her, taking a drink from my water bottle.

"Have you tried to break any of the rules?" Tessa asked me.

I immediately know she's referring to the set of rules I'm given as an exchange student.

I snort, "No, I don't want to get deported back home."

"We had an exchange student last year and her main goal was to break each rule, it was so fun"

I frown, "what happened to her?" I asked.

"Nothing, they don't really do anything because you're a senior. Too tired to care" she shrugged.

We fall into a silence for a minute, "she really did everything?" I asked Tess.

She nods "yeah, it was crazy." She laughed.
