When I slowly open my eyes and realize that it's the last full day, a wave of bittersweet emotions washes over me. Part of me can't wait to get back home, to hug my family and catch up with my old friends, but my heart aches thinking about leaving behind all the amazing people and places that have become such a huge part of my life. As I'm lost in these thoughts, wrapped up in my blanket and trying to process everything, there's a knock at my door. When I open it, there stands Millie, hands on her hips with that mischievous grin of hers.
"Y/N, I know you have my favorite hoodie! Don't even try to deny it - I saw you sneaking off with it during that late-night rehearsal in the second week!" Millie accuses, but she's laughing as she says it.
I grab the nearest pillow and launch it at her head. "Oh my god, check your laundry pile, you dork! I have, like, five hoodies of my own - why would I need yours?"
We both burst out laughing so hard we can barely breathe, the sound echoing through the space that somehow already feels a little emptier, a little more hollow knowing we'll be leaving soon.
"Hey Y/N," Millie says, finally catching her breath, "are you ready for the wrap party tonight? It's gonna be absolutely insane!"
"Yes!" I bounce a little on my toes, excitement bubbling up despite the morning's melancholy. "I can't wait!"
"Me too! Everyone's saying it's going to be, like, the party of the year," Millie grins, already dancing a little just thinking about it.
We spend the entire morning getting ready together, taking our time to make everything perfect. I take an extra-long shower, letting the hot water wash away some of my mixed emotions about leaving. Then comes the fun part - trying on practically every outfit I own before finally settling on the perfect one. Millie and I help each other with hair and makeup, gossiping and laughing the whole time.
When we finally arrive at the party, I'm immediately blown away. The whole place is transformed - lights twinkling everywhere, music pulsing through the air, and the smell of amazing food wafting from every direction. The dance floor is absolutely packed with cast and crew members, everyone letting loose and celebrating together. My heart swells seeing everyone so happy.
As the night goes on, our little group stays close together, bouncing from one activity to the next. We take about a million silly photos, stuff our faces with every delicious treat we can find, and dance until our feet hurt. But as the party starts winding down, I suddenly find myself alone with Finn - the one person who's been occupying my thoughts all night, if I'm being honest.
"This has been such an incredible experience," I say softly, trying to find the right words to express everything I'm feeling.
"Yeah, I know exactly what you mean," Finn responds, and when I look up, his eyes are shining in that way that always makes my stomach do little flips.
"I'm really going to miss you," I admit
"I'm going to miss you too, Y/N," Finn says, his voice gentle and sincere.
We stand there for what feels like forever, just looking at each other while the party swirls around us. The music seems to fade away, and for a moment it feels like we're in our own little bubble, just the two of us. Then we both start laughing, breaking the intensity of the moment, and Finn reaches for my hand, pulling me toward the dance floor. As we dance together, I feel this incredible sense of peace wash over me. Something about being with Finn just makes everything feel right, like no matter what happens next, it's all going to work out somehow. I try to memorize every detail of this moment, wanting to hold onto it forever.
But then Millie appears beside us, grinning from ear to ear. "Sorry if I'm crashing something here, but may I steal Y/N for a dance?" We skip away together, giggling, and I can't help but notice how flustered Finn looks. Is that jealousy I see? The thought makes me laugh even harder.
