Y/Ns pov.

I layed, I thought, and I blinked. Over and over again. Just waiting for Jinx, who didn't show up as she told me she will. It's only been a night. My thoughts weren't only filled with the girl. But the sheriff too. I haven't touched him, I haven't gotten my vengeance just yet. But I had to. Otherwise, I'll be stuck with this feeling of grief and shame forever.

My hands itched to get up, to do something, I could almost imagine them being wrapped around the handle of a knife, just jabbing it into Marcus's throat, or better, his face. A slight terror rang a bell in me, how'd I get here? I'm not like this. Im not a bad person, right?

In the silence, there was a loud groan, and a bang, coming from the door downstairs and I was certain the whole house was up as the lights were all on. So I slowly got up, holding my wound, which seemed to spread and the stitches have gotten apart after mine and Jinx's fun.

With a steady breath, I got downstairs. Caitlyn had her arm thrown over the red-haired girl's shoulder, they both looked horrid like they just went through a world war. Their clothes dirty, and hair fried.

" what happened to you? Caitlyn are you alright ?!" Cassandra's jaw was wide open at the sight of her daughter as she framed Caits face, shifting it from side to side.

Caitlyn let out a frustrated sigh," mom Im fine", she trailed, and her eyes fell on mine, who looked with worry, but I didn't say anything," I'm okay Y/N" as if she just read my mind she answered.

..

" Did you fall in the trash?", I chuckled, scrunching my nose dramatically. I knew this smell, it was at the tip of my tongue, but I couldn't make it out just yet.

The red-haired girl rolled her eyes at my question. She wasn't injured at all, her legs were spread all over the place as she sat on the chair, in front of me, making me wonder what the hell happened. I was tired of my own delusions. The chance of asking Caitlyn was low since she was downstairs getting stitches.

" My name's Y/N", I said, with a quick and tiny smile toward her.

That's a start, Y/N.

My kindness went away with her huff, which I took was annoyance," Vi" the girl simply let out, avoiding eye contact.

My brows rose, and I feel like Im forgetting something, something really important.

I shut out the thought of uneasiness and smiled even wider," nice to meet you, but it's even better to meet me". I haven't realized what I just said now, why was I like this? Do I miss Jinx that much?

Vi looked at me, flashing a glare with her eyes which gleamed with danger, like a predator and I gave her the same one. She was no fun at all. I was bored, and my hands still didn't want to do calm down.

" you're from Zaun right?" , I attempted to make a conversation, I was truly curious though.

The scoff that left her mouth irritated me even more and I regretted asking," that title is so stupid. It's total bullshit. I am from the under city", Vis words were getting aggressive. I didnt wanna push her further, but she continued," you're from under city too?", she finally looked at me without aggression, genuinely curious.

I cleared my throat once, sitting up straight and nodding, " kinda", I trailed awkwardly.

Some time went by in silence and I left Vi there, making my way to Caitlyn and jumping onto the sofa in hopes to ask for advice, or maybe just tell her what I'm going to do.

Who am I kidding, I'm not here to ask for advice.

"where's the sheriff, Caitlyn?", I went straight to the point seeing that no one was around anymore. Just me and Cait.

My hands sweat a little as I examined Caitlyn's confused face," w-why do you need him?", she cleared her throat, looking everywhere but me.

I was tired, of waiting and doing nothing, so I won't hide the truth," he was responsible for mothers death, I just know it", I said lowkey quietly, a little hesitant. My heart skipped a beat when her face changed, to something I can't describe.

" what?!", she coughed as if she just choked on air," Y/N what? Did you just-? What?", her questions annoyed me, but I understood that she was confused, and panicked," where did you even hear that? That's ridiculous, you know that he worked for her for many years" Caitlyn's hands flew everywhere and I shook my head.

" I know he did it Cait."

" so what? What will you do?", the girl's brows almost reached her hairline, her tone aggressive and alarming as she now stared into my eyes.

I paused and looked down, perhaps scared to admit to her what I'm planning on doing. Caitlyn doesn't know this side of me, in her mind, I wouldn't hurt a fly. But I took a deep breath in and closed my eyes for a moment to shut off any emotion of fear and doubt, then I looked back at her," Im going to find and Im going to kill him".

Caitlyn's eyes glimmered with tears filling," you don't know what you're talking about, it's too dangerous", one tear dropped and I swallowed the lump in my throat," you're staying, Y/N, I won't let you leave", she stood up, causing my eyes to widen.

I felt not understood, it hurt even," you don't know what it's like to feel like this Cait", my feet also brought me up to face her," I wake up every day, and I see her, I can't sleep. I have this hole inside my heart, it won't go away. I sit and I stare at the stupid wall wondering if I had done something differently, maybe she still would be here. I can feel her sadness, I can feel her fear. I can't go like this anymore. Please"

Caitlyn stood more still than a rock, she let a few more tears fall, yet, she didn't understand my pain. Why would she? She had her parents healthy and wealthy.

Her tears made my heart shudder already, but I couldn't stop feeling pain in it" fine", I didn't wait for her to say anything else and turned on my heels, completely turning my back on her, and sauntered upstairs.

The house was dead silent, only the snoring of Vi was penetrating my ears as I laid not far from her. Apparently, Caitlyn couldn't risk leaving her alone in a separate room, therefore she left me to watch the girl.

I glanced at the watch. Ten past three in the morning. Of course, I wouldn't have listened to Caitlyn. I had to do it, sooner or later, yet, I could not wait anymore. Every minute the sheriff was alive, I was being eaten inside.

The girl turned around, startling me, but it was only her getting comfortable with her eyes closed, mouth wide open as she drooled onto the pillow. My eyes rolled back at the sight, and I threw the blanket onto her, watching her face carefully as I stood up, and went for the backpack that I packed when no one could see. I had a few knives and my bat which I found in one of the rooms clung to it.

Leaving through the door would be risky, so I chose to climb out the window. It wasnt high, like 6 feet. Before getting away I took one last glance at the red haired girl, just in case she saw me. But she slept peacefully and I chuckled. Vi looked really scary while being awake, yet so calm and harmless while asleep.

I didn't know where I was going, except somewhere in Zaun. Hesitation didn't stop twisting at the back of my head, and instead, my feet took me to the place I and Jinx would sit and play with water. The place where the river and the big waters collide.

I sat down on one of the huge bricks. It was dark, almost too dark to see my own hands, so I lit up a lantern I had in my bag and placed it beside me. I missed Jinx. Even though she doesn't know the whole truth, I would like her to be here, to tell me what to do. Although she wasnt the smartest person when it comes to this. At least I wouldn't be alone.  I won't lie, I was sick worried for her. Where she went, and I couldn't stop thinking about her leaving me, forgetting about me. I can't imagine her going even a day without me.

The air seemed kind of chilly just now, and I shivered feeling uneasy.

" all alone, hmm?"
