As Jisung emerged from the bathroom, he immediately locked eyes with Minho standing against the wall.
"Ahn... I just needed... I went to..." A nervous Jisung stammered trying to explain himself but before he could finish, Minho interrupted him.
"Hey Jisung, I'm really sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable, You don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with, okay? I'm sorry, it's just a silly game" Minho said in a softer, more caring tone than Jisung had ever heard from him before. And for the first time, Jisung felt his tense shoulders begin to relax as he realized Minho wasn't the smooth-talking, flirtatious guy he always portrayed himself to be.
"Thank you, Minho. I appreciate it" Jisung replied, looking down at his feet and blushing. "And it's okay, I'm fine. Actually, I just need to smoke a cigarette real quickly, I'll be right back with you guys. You can go back and have fun." Jisung said, excusing himself out of the embarrassing situation.
"Actually, I could use a smoke myself. Mind if I join you?" Minho asked, gesturing towards the pack of cigarettes in Jisung's pocket.
Jisung sheepishly responded to Minho's request, "Uh, yea...sorry, no problem, you can come with me." They walked outside, with Jisung lighting a cigarette to calm his nerves. He gazed up at the sky, taking in the cool air and exhaling the warm smoke.Jisung leaned against the porch and closed his eyes, feeling at ease and forgetting about everything was happening around him.
Meanwhile, Minho watched in silence, admiring Jisung's peaceful state. In that moment, bathed in moonlight, Jisung looked ethereal to him. He noticed every detail of Jisung's face, from his soft round cheeks to his heart-shaped lips and pure gaze. "Wow," Minho couldn't help but say aloud, caught up in the moment.
Jisung snapped out of his moonlight daydream when he heard Minho's "wow".
"What's up?" Jisung asked, noticing the rose shade in Minho's cheeks.
"Nothing, just admiring the view," Minho replied with a chuckle. He looked away to the sky, trying to conceal his true thoughts. "Wow...Humm, are you really enjoying such cold air? You're really one of a kind."
Jisung continued to enjoy his cigar and the cold winter breeze, using it as a way to calm his nerves. "Yeah, a cold winter breeze and a cigar, I really do this when I feel..." He didn't wanna tell the real reason that he was nervous. "I feel like, I feel like I have to quit smoking" he finally said to Minho. Then he looked at him "ahn? Didn't you come here to smoke too?" confused Jisung asked.
"Oh, I see," Minho said, trying to understand. "Actually, I came here to smoke too, but I forgot all my things back there." He put his hands in his pockets and shrugged.
"Oh, I'm sorry, here I can give you one." Jisung quickly offered to give Minho a cigar, but Minho declined. "It's not necessary. Would you mind sharing yours with me?" Minho asked with a smile, leaning on the porch and looking at Jisung.
"Sure, I don't mind sharing with you," Jisung said with a serious expression.
"I'm also trying to quit, but now I'm not so sure," Minho replied with a smile.
Jisung nodded in agreement and shared his cigar with Minho. As Minho took a drag, Jisung couldn't help but admire his side profile as he pressed his lips and filled up his lungs. Minho's features were so beautiful - his lips, nose, and eyes - that Jisung found himself lost in his beauty again with his mouth slightly open.
Suddenly, Minho leaned in close to Jisung, and put the cigar back in Jisung's lips, ghosting his lips with his touch. Jisung felt chills run down his spine and he was about to explode with excitement. "Thank you," Minho said, smirking as he saw Felix watching them with a less-than-happy expression. Minho then left and went back inside the house.
Felix searched for Jisung outside and found him standing still, lost in thought while holding a cigar. Worried about the cold weather, Felix urged Jisung to go back inside "Oy! Jisung, are you okay? It's cold here, let's go inside." He said worried while hugging his friend's arm.
Jisung absentmindedly followed Felix inside "hm, yeah, 'kay." He just left the cigar fell on the slightly wet grass and fading out.
As they entered the backyard, Felix noticed everyone having fun - Chan with Minho, Changbin with Seungmin, and Hyunjin with Jeongin. However, Felix couldn't shake off his anger and sadness after witnessing what happened between Jisung and Minho. The alcohol didn't help either, as Felix was now in a drunken and upset state.
"Jisung, the music is playing, I can teach you some moves, come on" Felix tried to push him.
"Felix, I don't really feel like dancing right now," Jisung said, trying to politely decline his friend's offer. He smiled weakly, feeling a bit self-conscious about his lack of dance skills compared to the others in the group.
Seeing that Jisung wasn't interested, Felix decided to take a different approach and make him feel jealous. "Hyunjin, dance with me please!" Felix called out, pulling his best puppy eyes. Hyunjin, who was also drunk, left Jeongin and joined Felix on the dance floor.
Hyunjin, who was drunk too, left Jeongin alone "I'll be right back to you, baby~".
As they started moving to the beat in perfect synchronization, Jisung was too drunk to care, so he kept drinking and enjoying the show. However, things took a turn for the worse when Felix lost his balance and fell on top of Hyunjin.
"Okay, Felix, you've had waaaay too much to drink," Chan scolded his roommate as he dragged him away by the arm to their room.
"Hey, hey, are you okay?" Jeongin asked Hyunjin worried "let's go home'' and they all decided to leave together.
"I can take you both and Seungmin home" Changbin offered to take them all home, and they left the party one by one, leaving only Minho and Jisung behind in an awkward silence.
"Are you planning to leave now? Need a ride?" Minho offered Jisung, noticing the younger man's unsteady gait.
"I'm fine, I can walk home-" Jisung shook his head, insisting he could walk home, but he stumbled and fell into Minho's arms once again. "Sorry," he apologized, attempting to stand up, but Minho held him steady.
"I think you need a ride. Come on, I'll take you home," Minho suggested, meeting Jisung's gaze with a warm smile. Jisung looked down, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment, before muttering a shy "Thank you."
