Seungmin scanned the crowd at the party, he was at the bar and after a few shots he was feeling light headed.
'Chan is making out with some of the new trainees, Felix is jealous of Chan but kissing Jisung, Jisung looks like he's about to faint looking at Minho, Minho is staring at Jisung like he's in love or something, Jeongin is deeply in love staring at Hyunjin who is dancing like there's no tomorrow thinking no one knows he is "dating" the youngest'. He sighed. "This is a mess, or a really fucked up tv drama" he chuckled, taking another fresh round of shots.
Changbin made his way through the party, he finally spotted Seungmin standing alone by the bar.
"Seungmin?" Changbin said, approaching him cautiously.
Seungmin turned around and smiled when he saw Changbin. "Changbin, hey!" he said, "I didn't think I'd see you here tonight. You got me surprised when you came here with Chan and Minho"
"I almost didn't come," Changbin admitted, "but I wanted to see you."
Seungmin's smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure. "That's great," he said, "I'm really glad you accepted my invite and you're here."
Changbin was nervously quiet all of sudden.
Seungmin noticed the tense atmosphere and asked, "What's going on? Why do you look so serious?"
Suddenly, Chan stumbled over to them, his lips swollen, "Guys! This party is lit! Let's keep the fun going!". And he took another shot at the bar.
Seungmin smirked, "Oh, it's about to get even better." He said, mocking Chan.
Changbin only observed Chan disappear into the crowd again.
Seungmin could sense that something was off with Changbin, but he didn't want to push the issue. "So, how have you been?" he asked, trying to keep the conversation light.
"I've been good," Changbin replied, "just busy with work and stuff."
Changbin looked at the staff "Can you get me more 2 of this, please?"
Changbin handed one shot to Seungmin. "Thank you" Seungmin replied.
"Cheers!" Changbin said and they both drank.
Changbin just sat there beside Seungmin, he was nervously looking at his hands, while he waited for another round that he ordered for both of them.
"Thanks" Seungmin nodded, but he wasn't convinced. "Is everything okay?" he asked, concern lacing his voice.
Changbin hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Actually, there's something I wanted to talk to you about," he said, "but not here."
Seungmin furrowed his brow. "What do you mean?" he asked.
"I mean, I want to talk to you in private," Changbin said, "it's kind of a secret."
Seungmin's curiosity was piqued. "A secret?" he repeated.
Changbin nodded. "Yeah, my place is nearby, we can talk there," he said, "but you have to promise not to tell anyone."
Seungmin was shocked for a moment, being alone with Changbin was not new for him, but not in a serious way like telling each other secrets. "Okay," he said, "I promise."
Changbin grinned. "Great, let's go," he said, leading Seungmin out of the party.
As they walked, Seungmin couldn't help but feel nervous. He didn't know what to expect, what was bothering the elder, how would he help him, but he trusted Changbin. They arrived at Changbin's apartment and he let Seungmin in.
"Make yourself at home," Changbin said, gesturing to the couch. "Do you want something to drink?"
"Water, please," Seungmin replied, taking a seat.
Changbin disappeared into the kitchen and returned with a glass of water for Seungmin. He sat down next to him on the couch and took a deep breath.
"Seungmin, I've been thinking a lot about... us," Changbin began, "and I realize that I've been a coward."
Seungmin looked at him, puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, I've been avoiding my feelings for you," Changbin said, "but I can't do it anymore. I like you, Seungmin. I really like you."
Seungmin's eyes widened in surprise at Changbin's confession. He felt his heart beating fast and his mind racing, unsure of how to respond. He took a deep breath and spoke, "Changbin, I didn't know you felt this way, but I'm sorry, I can't reciprocate your feelings. I see you as a friend and nothing more. You know, Changbin. We talked before all this started, I warned you, no feelings. It's just sex."
Changbin's expression fell, and Seungmin felt a pang of guilt. He knew how hard it must have been for Changbin to confess, but he couldn't help his own feelings. "I'm sorry, Changbin. You know we can't do this anymore, I hope we can still be friends."
Changbin nodded slowly, his eyes fixed on the ground. "Yeah, of course. I understand." He paused for a moment before speaking again, "But can you keep this between us? I don't want anyone else to know."
Seungmin hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Yeah, sure. I won't tell anyone."
Changbin gave him a small smile, but Seungmin could see the sadness in his eyes. "Thanks, Seungmin. I appreciate it. And if you ever change your mind, just let me know."
Seungmin nodded, "I will."
As Seungmin walked away, he couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt and sadness. He wished he could return Changbin's feelings, but he knew deep down that he couldn't.
