{A/N: please bare in mind these first few chapters are extremely short. I wanted to get to the action quicker ;) but without jumping straight to it.}
"Okay, you're buying that!" I demanded Azure as she um'ed and argh'ed at the turquoise lace playsuit she was wearing in the mirror of the changing rooms.
"You don't think it looks too... 2013 Ariana Grande?"
"You look stunning!" I giggled at her analogy as I admired the pretty mint coloured garment that complimented her olive skin tone perfectly. I was always slightly jealous of Azure; her deep hazel brown eyes and slightly tanned skin tone created a perfect blend. Then there was me: monotonous green eyes and pale porcelain skin. We both had matching hair colours however, a golden brown- hers mid-length and mine just on my waist- I kept meaning to get it cut.
Shopping for our up and coming holiday only seemed to be getting the two of us even more excited. This was Azure's first time coming to Westward. Of course, she'd heard so much about it throughout our years of friendship- she practically knew every single story and detail about my years there. It's safe to say that she was more than ecstatic when my nan asked if I wanted to bring her along this year; sometimes I wondered if she was more excited about going than me. I couldn't wait to show her around and to have her see everything I'd constantly blabbered on about for years. It was also nice to think that I would finally have some girl company as all my life I've grown up surrounded by boys who were all older than me and, consequently, picked on me as I was the 'baby' of the group. Of course I didn't mind it, however, not being the only girl this year could only have positive outcomes.
With many shopping bags filled with summer purchases in hand, we popped into the little coffee shop and both ordered the same jasmine and lime iced tea we would get each year the day before one of us went away. Taking our drinks, the two of us made our way to the wall.
"So..." Azure said, jumping up onto the ledge of the wall. "You all packed for tomorrow?"
"Pretty much, though I need to pack a few last bits," I said, gesturing to my recent purchases. "I just can't believe it's tomorrow!"
"Scary how quick this year has gone," said Azure as she slurped on her iced beverage. "I bet you're excited to see everyone, especially after an entire year..."
"I'm literally beyond excited," I laughed.
"I can't wait to finally meet them all." She smiled. "Especially George and Luke."
"You'll love them- trust me!"
"What, like you love them- or should I say, him?" She smirked, mumbling the last bit just loud enough for me to hear.
I glanced over at her quickly as she took a long sip from her tea, the smirk still evident on her features.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm just saying, it's obvious you're excited to see a certain someone..."
"What?" I asked, pretending to be clueless. That's the thing with Azure- she could see right through my attempts of acting, despite being a straight A's drama student.
"Don't play dumb, Emilia- you know what I mean! All you ever talk about is Luke and how you miss him and how you 'had such a good time with him last year'..." Her voice trailed off.
"Azure!" I groaned. "We're just good friends!" I stated, giving her a serious look. "You know that. Besides, that would be so weird, I've grown up with him!" I scoffed, the unimpressed look on my face clearly acknowledged by Azure as she finally decided to let it go.
"Whatever," she said, playfully rolling her eyes.
We stayed and talked for a couple more hours until we decided to return home as the sun began to gradually fade. Saying our final farewells until we would be reunited again at Westward in a couple of weeks, it only then began to hit me that this was really happening- after all this time.
