Today was the day I got my exam results. The results that could practically determine my future.
To say I was nervous would be a complete and utter understatement; I was incredibly anxious about my fait which lay in a sealed envelope back at home. But there was nothing I could do about it now and so worrying was futile. At 11:00 AM those ever-so important grades were to be emailed to both me and Azure by our head of year; we were currently awaiting them in our caravan- the best place to get reception. We had promised the others to meet them at the beach once we found out. My entire family was all sat on the beach waiting to hear from us
- so no pressure.I felt a lot of pressure to do well in these exams. My family was all about getting good grades and going off to university and doing well in life. I guess it was drummed into me from a young age that school was important and that it was vital to do well. It was inevitable that I would be feeling this way- I'm sure Azure felt a lot of pressure to.
"Three minutes!" She squealed, frantically refreshing her emails as we sat around the dining table, a cup of coffee each to calm the nerves.
"Oh my gosh.."
"What if I've failed?" Azure asked worriedly.
"You wouldn't have, I promise!"
"But you never know! I could've failed all of them and that's my future practically flushed down the toilet."
"Stop worrying! You'll do fine. Besides, you and I did our best- that's all we could've done."
"I guess.." Her voice trailed off. We sat in a minute or so's silence before an all important notification echoed throughout the caravan, sending a rush of excitement and nerves through my blood.
"Oh shit."
This was it."On the count of three we open them. Ready?"
"Ready." I responded.
"One, two, three.."
My trembling hands managed to click on the email and a white screen appeared before my eyes. Immediately they scanned over the various subjects and grades to the right hand side.
English: A*
Maths: A
Science: A
Geography: A
History: B
Drama: A*
French: A
P.E: B"Oh my god!" My eyes widened at the amount of A's I had achieved.
"What? Did you do good? What did you get?" Azure said, rather fast.
I was practically beaming. "Pretty good.. You?"
"A* in English, A in Maths and B in Science- my life is made!" She squealed, jumping up and down. I showed her my results causing many squeals, hugs and laughs to vibrate the caravan. A great sense or relief and pride flushed throughout me. I felt as though I could finally breathe as such a large weight was lifted off my shoulder.
We did it. We actually got the grades we desired and were totally finished with school- forever.

"So we pretend that we failed?" I asked Azure as we walked up to the beach- it was another very hot and sunny day.
"Yeah," she replied, "-look sad!"
We finally reached our usual stretch of beach to see my whole family and the boys sat around on deck chairs in one large circle.
"Ahem" I coughed, grabbing everyones attention, as I placed my beach bag on the sea wall. Luke glanced up and instantly rose from his seat. He sported one of his typical beach black muscle tees captioned 'GO ALL THE aWAY' which made me chuckle and a pair of black shorts.
