"Excuse me," my nan said sternly as she brushed past Luke. Immediately, Luke and I backed away from one another. Looking awkwardly at the ground, he scratched at the back of his neck as my nan continued to measure out sugar into multiple cups of tea as if the two of us weren't even there.

"Um," Luke injected into the awkward silence that was suffocating the small room. "We should go..."

I quickly nodded in agreement as the two of us rushed for the door.

"Im just going for a walk!" I yelled to my mum who was in deep conversation with my aunt at that time.

"Okay, honey," she replied dismissively, paying little attention to me as I grabbed my sunglasses and started walking, with Luke, up the long curved stretch of endless beach.

"So, how comes you didn't wanna go into Berrisdown for the day with George and everyone?" I asked Luke.

"I figured I'd rather chill at the beach than spend my day amongst a busy crowd of shoppers," he paused. "And besides, I wanted to see you," he said, playfully nudging into my side and clearly not realising his own strength as the movement almost caused me to topple over.

"Luke!" I squealed as I stumbled.

"Sorry!" He laughed. "I didn't expect you to be so weak and blow over like a bloody feather!"

"Oh, I'm sorry." I said sarcastically. "I just wasn't really expecting you to try and push me over. Next time, do give me some warning."

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," he laughed and raised both hands defensively in the air. "I give you permission to push me." He tried to reason.

"I'll do it when you're least expecting." I smirked causing him to roll his eyes jokingly.

Walking for about half an hour, we finally reached a good place to stop. We'd found ourselves sitting on a large grey rock by the cliff face, looking out to the glistening sea. This part of the beach was completely isolated and so the soothing sound of the waves was prominent and filled the air, creating our own little private haven.

The sun was at it's highest point, shining in all it's midday glory and causing me to practically sizzle under my black t-shirt.

"It's too hot," I exclaimed, laying down on the scorching golden sand below me. Luke stayed sitting up, perching on his arms behind him.

"Wanna go for a swim?" He asked, his eyes studying my face for an answer.

"Um, sure," I replied. Luke hopped up, lending me his hand and assisting to pull me up. Without a second thought, he had whipped off his shirt and was already running into the sea when it came to my realisation that I had no bikini on under my clothes- the consequence of getting dressed in a rush. A soft sigh fell from my lips as I looked out towards the transparent aqua sea. I had to admit, it did look pretty inviting. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. I decided to just tuck my top into my bra and run in still wearing my shorts.

The feeling of the cold water splashing against my burning skin was just what I needed. So refreshing.

"What are you doing?!" Luke laughed, clearly taking note of my peculiar swimming attire.

"I, um, I forgot my bikini," I blushed.

"Of course you did," he giggled. There was a slight pause until suddenly my face was splashed with the icy salt water we were cooling off in. Immediately, I splashed him back, soaking his hair and making it go flat- just the way he hated it (and I secretly loved.) The beads of water glistened on the ends of the golden blonde and a few trickled down the sides of his jaw.
