Chapter 25

"What happened, what happened, what happened?!"

"Okay, so, he picked me up two hours or so after you left and we went into town,"

"Mhm.." I nodded, excitement consuming me as Azure revealed how her date went with Ashton. The pair of us were sat crisscross-applesauce on my bed- a thing we had a habit of doing when there was gossip to be spilled.

"And then we went to the fete and- oh my gosh he screams like a girl," she giggled. "Anyway, after that we went back to the apartment for a bit before our dinner at that cute little restaurant you were telling me about."

"That sounds lovely," I cooed.

"It was great..." She smiled with her mouth pulled into a thin line.

"But...?" I asked confused, due to her slightly negative expression.

"But nothing! It was an amazing night..." She paused momentarily before continuing with her confession. "It was just when he dropped me off here and... Oh, I don't know, I just, I really thought he was going to kiss me. It sounds stupid but..."

"What happened then?"

"Well we hugged goodbye, it was kinda awkward. For a second I really thought he was about to kiss me."

"He was probably really nervous, Az..."

"I know, I know," she sighed. "But anyway, it was a really good night!" She smiled.

"Im glad!" I smiled in return. "Just give it time."

"So how was your weekend then? D'ya have fun?"

"It was actually really good." I blushed slightly, reflecting on the past events.

"What happened?"

"Nothing much really, I mean the journey there was a laugh- as it always is with those boys- and then I met the rest of his family... I was pretty nervous at first but they were all so lovely." I smiled at the memory of the kind words Liz spoke.

"And..?" She encouraged me to proceed.

"And what?" I let out a breathy laugh.

"Something else happened. I can tell." She raised her eyebrows.

I laughed slightly at how well Azure could read me. "Well, um, we kinda made it official..."

"What?!" She squealed. "He asked you to be his girlfriend?!"

"Yeah..." My cheeks heated yet again as I fiddled with the hem of my shirt.

"Oh my fucking god!" She jumped up, clapping her hands excitedly. "I'm so happy for you! This is brilliant!"

"Thanks," I laughed at her reactions.

"How did he ask?" Azure asked, sitting back down in front of me, leaning forward ever so slightly with curiosity evident in her wide eyes.

"Uh, well, he told his younger cousin I was his girlfriend- it kinda slipped. Then later on, when we were in bed, I questioned him about what he said and, yeah..."

A clear smirk appeared on her features as she arched her eyebrow at me. "When you were in bed?"

"Uh, y-yeah, um, we shared a bed..."

"Emilia White!" She exclaimed, her mouth left wide agape.

"Nothing happened! We just cuddled!"
