Chapter 20 : Blood In The Water

Deion's POV

—————————————————————————

I couldn't believe this dude, coming up to my place of business with his bullshit.

We worked under the same company but he knew this was my domain, my building.

Whether he was blood to me or not he knew I didn't deal with him, not one bit.

They always said blood was thicker than water but an enemy is always an enemy, blood doesn't change that.

After the blowup I had with him in the middle of the office I apologized sincerely to Naomi and accepted her request to leave for the rest of the day.

I wanted more than anything to still take her out on the date she deserved but I knew to respect her space.

Unfortunately that date would have to wait and once again my brother had successfully ruined something of mine.

I finished up the tasks I had on my MacBook and placed it into my briefcase as I headed towards the exit.

"Hi Mr.Rivers, I was wondering if you seen Naomi?," Isabel asked.

I clenched my jaw slightly as I remembered the situation that had caused her to leave early.

"I think she went home a little early, did you need me to tell her something for you?," I asked.

Her eyes widened in surprise.

"She's my assistant, of course I have access to her outside of work."

"Oh. Yeah I knew that, no sir it's okay I will text her myself," she stammered, hurrying off into her office direction.

I shrugged my shoulders as I headed towards the elevator to exit the building.

When I finally arrived at my place I heard three voices loudly arguing in the back living room area, one of them was my mother so this made me rapidly run towards them to see what was going on.

I walked in to see Yvonne, my mother and Jacob all standing in the living room.

"You got alot of damn nerve disrespecting me in my own house!," Yvonne yelled out towards my mom.

I frowned up my face and quickly stepped in, "Maybe you forgot Yvonne but you don't live here anymore."

"It doesn't matter it's still the house we have together!"

"That I plan on selling," I responded.

She looked at me in disbelief as she realized what I was saying.

"Oh I wonder why. Your whore must've asked you to do that."

"I don't see any whores in this house but you," I snapped.

She quickly raised her hand and slapped me across the face.

I stared back at her with pure rage, but I knew better than to lay hands on a woman.
