Chapter 36 : Grand Gesture
** Back To Naomi's POV **
Cold air that felt like ice flew strongly past my face as I walked from my car up to Deion's front door.
Maybe I could've walked faster but my feet felt like they had been glued to the ground, I was beyond nervous.
You see, I didn't have much experience with children at all.
I was the youngest and never even had to be around children much in general like ever when I thought of it.
I definitely had never previously dated or dealt with anyone with children (that I knew of) either, so this was completely new to me.
My feelings for Deion had grown more and more with time and it was no secret or doubt that I loved him, so I was ready to meet his son, it was just scary.
What if he ends up hating me? What if he thinks I'm the reason his parents broke up? What if this causes problems with him and his father?
At times I wished just for one day I could turn my thoughts off, but I couldn't.
I have anxiety.
It wasn't controllable or something I could actually choose to not have, unfortunately.
Over the years I had managed it very well, most things didn't cause me to panic or freak out too much, but lately my mind had been all over the place and it felt as if I just couldn't get it to slow down no matter how hard I tried.
Sighing I took a deep breath as I firmly knocked on the door that was now directly in my face.
It was the weekend now, 8:18am in the morning on a Saturday to be specific.
"Good morning beautiful!," Deion yelled, flinging the door open.
"Good morning," I smiled, stepping through the door.
I removed my coat as I looked around the house entrance.
Quickly I noticed there were boxes some empty, some full spread all over the place.
A confused look on my face immediately caused Deion to start explaining, "Long story short we're moving sooner than expected. I'm selling this house immediately."
A knot formed in my stomach, I felt instant sadness.
Moving? How far away? Without me? What about the new babies?
"I meant to tell you all of this much sooner, but this is the safest option at the moment. Yvonne went completely reckless yesterday."
Sigh.
A million words wanted to fly out of my mouth but all I could say was, "I understand."
"I really would love if you moved with me. I'm renting a condo just for a couple months but we could search for our dream home."
I gulped and instantly bit my lip, way too hard.
He must've picked up on my nervousness because he stepped closer to me and grabbed onto both of my hands, "I'm not forcing you to do anything. It's just an option."
