Chapter 43 : Family Matters Pt 1

After we got back from the grocery store we had Maria help put the groceries away as we went upstairs to shower and change.

I'd stayed mostly silent while in the shower with Deion and now was sitting on the bed still somewhat speechless.

"It's going to all be fine babe, I'll be right there with you to support you."

Deion kneeled onto his knees and began rubbing champagne toast-fragranced lotion all over my legs and feet.

He was constantly going out of his way to cater to me in some way, it really warmed my heart.

"I know I'm just nervous. I mean I used to think I hated him because I barely heard from him and just assumed the worst about him being incarcerated."

"Which is very understandable babe," Deion replied, gently massaging one of my feet.

He looked up at me with his almond colored eyes and softly kissed the top of my foot.

I smiled, "You know maybe having your babies wasn't such a bad idea."

Chucking he told me, "Well gee thanks."

Opening my closet I grabbed a casual long black t-shirt dress from off a hanger.

"Let me help you," Deion offered, walking up behind me.

I handed him the dress and smiled as he helped me put it over my head, pulling it down to my thighs.

When the dress was fully on I smoothed it out and grabbed and stepped into a pair of high-topped matching black and white converse sneakers.

Looking into the mirror I struggled to feel confident.

Fully aware of the fact I was carrying not just one but two babies, I tried to just brush it off.

After rubbing a small amount of clear lip gloss over my lips and applying a lighter pair of mink eye lashes to my eyes I was officially ready to go.

Deion walked out of his own closet and met back in the hallway with me, "Ready to go?"

Gulping, I nervously replied," Yeah. As ready as can be."

"We're here baby wake up."

Deion's voice startled me as I quickly sat back up in the passenger seat.

I'd fallen asleep on the way to my dad's house.

As nervous as I was you would've thought that was impossible, but I was very far along in my pregnancy and had no control over my body at this point.

We pulled into the driveway of a small, coral-colored single family home. Large oak trees provided the whole yard with quite a bit of shade which was refreshing in this hot summer heat.

The hot air moved past my face as I grabbed Deion's hand and walked towards the front door.

Before either of us could knock, the door was flung open by my father.

"You guys made it oh I'm so so glad hurry come on in!," he exclaimed.

I nervously nodded my head and walked into the home.
