Syrian did that?
Oh my god he stabbed his first person.
"Stop smiling." I hear a voice beside me.
I look towards Kamau and frown. "I'm not smiling."
He points to my mouth, "yes you are. You're grinning about Syrian hurting someone. We should talk to him."
I furrow my eyebrows, "for what?"
He looks at me as if it's obvious.
It's not.
Kamau pulls me away from Levos and the physician before he talks again. "Because what he did was wrong he shouldn't have hurt Levos and you should have never given him that knife."
I pull my hand out of his. "I get that he shouldn't have stabbed Levos but he knew he could help and he did what he needed to do. And excuse me? I'm glad I gave him that knife. They need to protect themselves considering how powerful their parents are. I'm not gonna talk to Syrian but feel free." I say bluntly as I flip my braid over my shoulder and start walking to my horse.
I huff. The nerve he has to try and argue with me. Yeah I know we're different people and he's more kindhearted than me, but just because I'm proud that Syrian stabbed someone doesn't mean I'm wrong. Most good people will say I am but that's just what sets me apart from others.
I hear footsteps behind me and then what I could only assume as Kamau's giant hand clasping around my wrist and I noticed his hands no longer have burns on them.
"Wait, you still have to get healed."
I grab his wrist and remove his hand off mine. "I told you, it doesn't hurt. We have to make it out of the forest before nightfall, I suggest you get on your horse as well."
I continue walking all the way back to where Venom is and I step up and swing around her.
I look to see Selkie already on his horse and I glance behind me in the distance, everyone looks to be ready.
I put my thumb and pointer finger in my mouth, eliciting a warning whistle. It tells the guards they have two minutes to make sure everyone's where they need to be before we start moving.
I'm looking straight ahead when I feel Kamau come up beside me and get on his horse.
"I'm sorry-" Kamau begins but I cut him off without looking at him.
"Don't apologize."
I hear him shift next to me. "Why?"
I finally turn to look at him. "You shouldn't apologize for how you think, just don't try to make me agree with you."
He sighs in relief. "So you're not mad at me?"
I shake my head. "Just irritated at the situation." I change the subject feeling no need to continue talking about it. "Is everyone ready?"
He pauses and looks behind us before turning back to me and nodding.
I breathe out. "Let's get the fuck out of here."
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
The sunsetted thirty minutes ago and we're just now getting out of the Fallen Forest.
Me and Kamau lead the Beluson residents a good distance away before we stop in a green grass field, beautiful trees spaced far out, making it look like some sort of safe haven.
I put my finger in the air and twirl it around, signaling the guards to switch shifts. I see two carriages open and the set of guards that were resting all day are now ready to surround us and take night watch.
