On the night of Homecoming everyone was going crazy. Noah had his date and a few friends from the basketball team over and Olivia had all of her friends over to get ready with her. Anton was at a sleepover with Lizzy whom he had met a little while ago when we went to the park but there were still students pouring out of every doorway. I tried to avoid everybody as I struggled to do my hair while three other girls took turns with the mirror, trying to get ready. After giving up on my hair and letting it fall however it wanted, I went to find a place to get dressed. Olivia had a bunch of girls doing each other's hair in her room and the bathroom wasn't going to be empty any time soon. All of Noah's friends were downstairs getting ready in the powder room so I knocked on his door.
"What do you need Madelyn?" Noah asked, opening his door a crack and leaning on his door jam. He had been up here for almost an hour and yet he was still shirtless.
"I need to get dressed and everywhere else is full. Can I borrow your room for three minutes?"
"Why can't you get dressed with the rest of the girls?"
I rolled my eyes and clenched my jaw, "I just can't."
He contemplated his response, "Three minutes. Don't touch anything." What did he think I was gonna do? I mean really? Rearrange his sock drawer?
"Thanks B'y." I moved to the side so he and his date (who was hastily zipping up her dress) could go downstairs then, hurrying inside, I closed the door and locked it before taking Aiden's ever present hoodie off and stripping down. I got dressed as quickly as possible and put my black leather jacket on over my sleeveless romper. The jacket had pockets inside the lining specifically to hide things like knives. I couldn't reach the zipper on the back of my outfit so I would have to find someone else to do it for me. I went back to Olivia's room and asked her if she could do it. She nodded and I took my arm out of one of the sleeves of my jacket. She zipped the zipper and I put my jacket on the rest of the way. All that was left to get ready for this awful night was to put shoes on and some makeup. A pair of sneakers and a bit of lip gloss later, I was ready to get this awful night over with.
