Just a flesh wound I told myself, hoping it was true. It barely grazed me. I took the guns off of the men I killed and shot him three times in the chest, then tucking the other gun in my jacket. Four down, seven to go I thought. I heard someone behind me and stabbed them without turning around. Once I heard my knife tearing through his skin, I turned and stabbed him again. Now that my outfit was covered in blood and completely unreturnable, I stalked back into the crowd of students and teachers to get my playing cards out of my purse. Well, not actual playing cards, they were kind of like throwing stars. I threw two of them at the guy that was still in the hallway for whatever reason. Why hadn't he come in when he heard the fight? Orders, probably. These idiots wouldn’t do anything without being ordered to. The man fell to the ground and blood started to spill out of his throat and leg. For an extra flair, and to be petty, I flipped my hair behind me before killing the last two men.
Blood covered my eyes and the floor seemed to sway under me as I stumbled to the locker room to get cleaned up. Even after I got rid of the blood in my eyes, I couldn't see anything, it was all blurry. I gripped the sink to steady myself as the door opened and closed. I turned to try and see who it was.
"Are you okay Madelyn?" A familiar voice said. Whose voice though? I couldn't put my finger on it. "Hey, can you hear me?" The voice said. The accent wasn't German, but it belonged to one of them. One of the monsters that slaughtered my family.
"No" I whispered, "No!" My voice grew, "Not again. You can't. They're already dead, you can't hurt me anymore." I started laughing maniacally, "I'm out. I don't have anything you want."
"What are you talking about? Did you hit your head during that fight?"
Then I wasn't laughing anymore. "I'll kill you! For what you did to them, I'll kill you! He was four years old, you monster!"
"Who? Who are you talking about? Madelyn?"
"Téigh amach! Téigh amach! Amach anois!"
"Hey!" A new voice said, "What the Hell's going on in here?" I trusted this voice, it felt safe.
"I don't know man, I came in to ask if she was okay and she started screaming something about a four year old. What is she saying?" Demon from Hell, I decided. Definitely a demon from Hell.
"She probably wants you to get out. Can't you see what you're doing to her? Get out and get me her bag. Hey, Lyn, he's leaving okay? When was the last time you took your meds?"
I don't like my meds, I wanted to say. I don't like how I feel when I take them, I wished I could say. But I didn't. I said, "Yesterday. Wait, Gideon?"
"Yeah? Who else would it be?"
"I don't know. I can't see, it's kind of hard to even focus right now."
" Okay, sit down and breathe. Why can't you see?"
"Headache." I said sitting down, "Migraine, actually. I get them a lot. Sometimes I can't see because of them."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"Is it a panic attack?"
"A what?"
"You've never had a panic attack? You're lucky."
"No I'm not, I just don't get panicked. What do you want, Gideon?"
"I came to make sure you were okay. What do you want?"
"I want to go home, but I can't."
"Why not?"
Because Oliver sold my home. "You ask too many questions." I blinked and tried to clear my eyes as I stood up and left the room, not waiting for that monster to come back with my bag. With every step, I could see better and soon my vision was completely restored. Do I still have to go to the after party? I wondered. Is there even going to be an after party anymore?
