Suspended. Thank God, I didn't have to go to school for two whole weeks. Oliver was gonna have a field day when the school called him. I took my time getting back to the house, knowing that when I got there I would face the same looks of fear on their faces as I did at school. Oliver's car was already parked out front when I got there and I went inside, ready to get yelled at. I walked into the dining room to face Oliver's angry face sitting at the table with Hannah and Robin. "Guess who got suspended?" I said giddily like a little child saying they had gotten a lollipop.
"Go put your bag down and go to the car Madelyn." Oliver ordered, he sounded madder than I've ever heard him. I complied like the good little soldier I've always been and waited for him in the car, counting the minutes in my head. Oliver got in the driver's seat and slammed the door shut. "What the Hell Madelyn?" He said as he turned the key, "You got suspended, you're skipping classes, you're starting fights. Why?"
"I got suspended because I skipped class, I skipped class because I was bored and I didn't start that fight. He did. Did I miss anything?"
"Stop jacking around Madelyn. This isn't funny."
"You're right, it's bloody hilarious. Where are we going?"
"No it's not Madelyn. You never used to do this. What happened to the good kid who didn't get in fights or skip class?"
"She's dead. Too boring. Where are we going?"
"What's that?"
"You're gonna have to be a bit more specific, Ollie. Now, where are we going?"
"On your sleeve."
"There's nothing on my sleeve. Where are we going?"
"Why is there blood on your sleeve Madelyn?" He was boiling mad now and almost yelling.
"If you knew what it was then why'd you ask? That kind of ruins the whole point then, doesn't it. Where are we going?"
He slapped me right across the face. "Stop it. You are gonna answer my questions without any of your BS comments. Are we clear?"
I took a deep breath. "Chrystal. Where are we going?"
"Why. Is. There. Blood. On. Your. Sleeve?"
"Where. Are. We. Going?"
"Madelyn Ann Everhart!"
"I went to the club during school, okay."
"Are you friggin kidding me Madelyn! You ditched school to go to a fight club! Oh my- what in the Hell were you- I'm gonna kill you."
"Please do."
"Stop joking around Madelyn. This is serious!"
"I'm not joking Oliver. Please kill me!" I was yelling now too, and I was telling the truth.
"I can't do this. I can't do this. You're staying at Nada's tonight. She'll deal with you."
"You're a coward Oliver." I said through clenched teeth as I opened the car door.
"Don't you do it Madelyn. Don't you friggin dare."
"Bite me, Oliver." I jumped out of the car and rolled, hearing a string of curses come out of the car.
Remembering how we got there, I went back to the Hudson's house and climbed up to the roof by Olivia's room. Olivia was sitting on her bed, drawing. I knocked on the closed window to get her attention, when she saw me, she opened the window and I came inside.
"If anyone asks, I wasn't here. Okay." I told her as I went to my dresser.
"Um why?"
"Look, I know you're pissy with me because of Friday, maybe even scared of me. But I don't have time for this, I promise, we can talk when I get back if you want. Remember, I wasn't here." I said again, grabbing some clothes and throwing them on my bed. Then, I reached under my bed and pulled out my go bag, stuffing the clothes in. Once that was done, I went to Olivia's dresser and pulled out a handgun I had hidden there, checking the clip to make sure it was full. I tucked it in my waistband and climbed back out the window, bag in hand.
