The newly devised crew for the next expedition was composed of Ka'eo Caval, Mana Maranello, Peter Byusinav, Stavros Byusinav, Alec Pascal, Max Towers, and Kanoa Mayors.
Kanoa Maes said with a brilliant air, "It feels like we're all here on such short notice yet we haven't seen each other in such a long time, that it's like we either all just got out of a prison sentence together, or we just got out of school last Friday and are back to school again. And now we're all kind of here to learn that the United Space Force is willing to negotiate on whimsical terms subject to change based on what we decide is good for the survival of our group."
"I think Kanoa is right, but now, why are we all here?" Max Tucker asked.
"Why else? We have more sh$t to do. Next up, the USF is going to be giving us our orders to board a ghost station on an ice planet," Ka'eo stated.
Stavros asked, "What if they really did make us go to an ice planet and it was worse than the H&G or the--"
"No, yeah, worse than that asteroid we visited," Peter interrupted.
Mana corrected them, "The MacKalla T-Rover Space Station."
"Yeah. That place!" Stavros declared loudly.
"May I ask what, why, and where that place was?" Alec Paguel inquired to the group, curious.
"Wait, so before we tell you about that, it's true that we're going to an ice planet," Ka'eo informed them. "The truth is that we are going to another ghost station to check out what happened and why, and to extract more data there, the challenge being the God awful weather."
"Wait, Ka'eo--" Peter began.
Stavros added, "Yeah, wait, if--"
"If you know about that, then what else do you know about?" Alec asked, slightly suspicious.
Kanoa raised his eyebrows and said, "Now, this is actually getting interesting. More interesting than what was occurring at the Ying Foundation Corporation. No, it wasn't a non-profit."
"You're kidding me, Ka'el," Mana added, dryly, reluctant about the mission and the details given about it.
"I can already feel the cold air of the ice planet as we get closer to it without our knowing, thanks to the power of AI-guided space travel enhanced piloting," Kanoa gave as a mouthful.
"Okay, guys, seriously, who told who-who in the f$ck is in charge here? Where is the air support?" Max suggested in his own curiosity, joking to maintain some semblance of warmth."Yeah, Ka'eo, they put you up as being in charge?" Stavros asked, blindsiding the conversation.
Ka'eo responded, "It's not that I'm asking them to place me at the head of the missions, but when I spoke to Captain Borges about it, he basically titled me the captain of the ship for this mission for the sake of having a leader, someone to keep us all together."
Mana thought to himself, that's bullsh$t, nobody votes that. F$cking United Space Force. But, whatever.
Peter sighed and asked, "So, are there going to be any safety guidelines this time? Or did you choose this station? It's a mission and not a b$tch task, right?"
"Right, and actually serious this time. Captain Borges definitely wants us to report back to him ASAP about what we discover, and he added some mission guidelines that will keep us focused on having something to do. It's not a looting source, either," Ka'eo answered.
"You guys were allowed to loot the other space station?" Alec asked. He chuckled at the idea of them having stolen USF-branded goods. "And hey, how did they know to link all of us up for this?"
"We're not done linking up, either. Think, we're going to have Donovan, Matt Haas, and a very old friend of ours grouping with us, too," Ka'eo continued to inform.
"Sounds like a fun team," Kanoa spirited.
"Yeah, but are we-? ... you know," Alec suggested.
Ka'eo said, "Here's what I know. So, the other member joining us is Caleb Agrecia, from back in the Trinity days and the first contact with the Jungle's cobra heads."
