Nick, Sharon, Blake, and Gwen all became friends when they moved in next door to one another, in Genoa City which was in the state of Wisconsin. For each couple, it was the first home they had put a down payment on and started to pay a mortgage. But before we start, six months before that all happened. Nick and Sharon had got married, in front of over one hundred people at the Newman ranch. Which was owned by Nick's parents Victor and Nikki. Victor was a very powerful man. But Nick wanted nothing to do with the family business. So he set up on his own, and he had businesses, all over the city. Sharon owned the coffee house in the city called Crimson Lights. Nick had helped her financially to set it all up. Blake and Gwen had come from nothing, in comparison to Nick and Sharon. They had met each other on the open road, singing in bars. They had both loved to sing from a very early age. Vegas had seemed the ideal place to get married at the Little Vegas Wedding Chapel. Because Blake had just got booked to do bigger shows, in better venues. A couple of months after that all happened. Gwen got spotted by a talent agent, and her career was about to take off too. So getting married at that time seemed like a no-brainer for them.

Not long after that all happened, they were on the road in Wisconsin when they spotted a house in Genoa City, and just fell in love with it. Nick and Sharon on the other hand, had spent their whole lives in GC. They didn't want to live anywhere else. When moving-in day happened. They just all happened to be doing it on the same day. Nick had spent most of his life, fighting with his family. His father disapproved of him going out on his own. Even though Nick was making a good job of it. His father wanted Nick to stay within the family business. But after a couple of fallouts with his father and especially his brother Adam.  He also had a sister Victoria. She was just like their father. Nick decided he had had enough, of all the family drama. So he started a company, to help low-income families a roof over their heads. He'd met Sharon at high school, and they had fallen in love. Nick had been the quarterback on the football team and Sharon had been the leader on the cheerleading team. It was meant to be. His mother and father thought he was throwing his life away, getting married so young and settling down. But Nick knew he and Sharon made a good team. That's why he had helped her, get her hands on Crimson Lights. Nick knew it was a good business to have.

He was also smart enough to know, Sharon did not want to sit on his coattails. She wanted to prove she could be a force to be reckoned with. Especially to Nick's family. Who thought she wasn't worthy of having the Newman name? Over the next couple of years of living next door to each other, Gwen, Sharon, Nick, and Blake all relied on one another. When Blake came back from being on the road, he and Nick would go and play a round of golf or go out for a beer now and again. They also both loved doing BBQs. It was harder for Gwen and Sharon to get to know one another at first. Because Sharon loved her business and found it very hard to take time off from running it. Also, Gwen was always on the road. Much more than Blake was it seemed. But really it was just because Gwen, liked to chill when she got home, so half the time you never knew she was there. One day though, Nick saw Gwen in the garden and told her about the coffee house Sharon had. It didn't take her long to go ad seek it out one day. Gwen loved her coffee. Sharon was thrilled when she popped in.

They sat in a booth and didn't stop talking to one another for over an hour. Sharon was thrilled to have someone she could call a best friend. She didn't have any from school. because she was always with Nick. Every chance she got. When Sharon did take time off on the rare occasion. She and Gwen would go for lunch, do a pedicure or have a massage somewhere as their treat. They would spend the whole day together, just chatting with one another. Having such great neighbors was wonderful. After about a year of living next door to one another. Sharon got a message at work, asking her to pop around when she had finished work. It was from Gwen. I thought she was in Vegas for a gig. Sharon thought to herself. She sent a message to Nick, asking him if he'd had a message from Blake. No! Replied Nick. Is there a problem? Is everything okay with them? Sharon sent him a reply to his questions by saying Gwen had asked her to pop around after she got home from work. Isn't she supposed to be in Vegas? Nick questioned in his next text. I thought that too said Sharon in her reply. I'll tell you all the details when I get in said, Sharon. Okay, love you said, Nick. Love you too replied Sharon.
