Chapter 26 Together?

After those words, Tessa was even more scared about what had happened to Mariah. An hour ticked by. Tessa was sitting on the opposite sofa when Mariah started to stir. She could tell Mariah was having some dream. Then all of a sudden, she just sat straight up and gave out an almighty scream out of her mouth. She screamed No! As loudly as humanly possible. Tessa rushed over to Mariah and held her. Mariah was continuing to scream and was trying to fight Tessa off. Nick heard the commotion and came rushing from his office. "Tessa" He screamed. Let her go. Tessa did as she was told. In the house next door. Sharon had just finished telling Gwen what had happened to Mariah. She couldn't give Gwen too many details, because Mariah had not told them too many. I don't know if I can find the right words said Gwen getting emotional. Don't say anything said, Sharon. I've tried saying something to Mariah. But nothing comes out. So you're not the only one. 

I was lost for words too. I'm hoping that now Tessa is there with her, she'll start to open up a bit. And tell her exactly what happened. Otherwise, we may have to resort to some sort of therapist. I'm sure Tessa will get it out of her somehow said Gwen. I'm just a little frightened, that it may be too much for Tessa to hear. Especially, when I think it was Tessa's idea that they told Devon and Sally. That they wanted to be together and not with them. I'm not justifying what he has done. But I think Devon saw red! Also, I don't know if Tessa will be able to work with him ever again. And until they catch Devon, we're not going to know what went through his head. All I know is, up until this point Devon has been a great boyfriend to Mariah. They have been together for nearly five years up to this point. And I've never seen him being aggressive towards Mariah in all that time. Anyway, I'd better get back and see how things are going next door. Okay said, Gwen. You know where I am if you need anything. I hope Tessa can get through to her.

So do I said Sharon as they hugged one another at the door. When Sharon had gone. Gwen counted her lucky stars, that it hadn't happened to Tessa. Gwen told Blake later on. when he came back from a meeting. We have to support them all said Blake as well as our daughter. Because she might be feeling it's her fault! How do you come to that? asked Gwen. Well, she told me she hated sneaking around with Mariah, all the time. She's always wanted her as her girlfriend. So, I'm guessing she needed them to tell Devon and Sally the truth finally said, Blake. Oh you might be right about the last bit said Gwen. It was Tessa's idea. But I think they were both ready to do it. I wonder how things are going over there? I guess, we have to wait for Tessa to come back here? Well, it definitely won't help if we turn up on mass said Blake. Meanwhile in Sharon and Nick's house. Tessa had just wondered what had just happened. Nick was still calming Mariah down. But Tessa could tell by Looking into Mariah's eyes, she was still freaking out. 

Just at that moment, Sharon came in the front door. She took one look at Mariah and Nick. And asked what had happened. Tessa explained. Oh I see said Sharon. The doctors at the hospital did say this may happen after such a trauma. What trauma? asked Tessa getting a little on edge. You still haven't told me what happened. Hasn't Mariah spoken to you? Err no said Nick jumping in. After you left, Mariah fell asleep in Tessa's arms. And then she woke up screaming, a few minutes ago. Tessa, I am so sorry said Sharon. We can't tell you what happened, because Mariah wants to tell you herself. I do said Mariah softly. I'm so sorry I scared you just now. It's okay said Tessa. I'm not going anywhere. I was wondering if it's okay to stay the night. Then Mariah can take her time, and tell me when she's ready. I don't see a problem with that said, Sharon. "Mom" Can you go and make Tessa and me some fresh coffee? After that, I need you both to disappear. Tessa needs to know what happened. And I can't do that, with you both of you in the room. We'll do what you need us to do said Nick.

Are you sure you don't need us to stay? No, thank you, dad. Tessa and I will be fine. Her mom disappeared into the kitchen to make the coffee. Mariah patted the sofa next to her. Tessa went over and sat next to her. Tessa reached out for Mariah's hand. But Mariah pulled it away. Sharon came back in and placed the coffee on the table in front of them. Sharon then kissed Mariah on the forehead, before she and Nick disappeared. Are you sure you want to do this with me now? asked Tessa a little concerned about Mariah's state of mind. "Tessa" If I don't tell you this now. It's going to mess with my head. And I may never come back from that. Tessa already noticed Mariah had tears in her eyes. Okay said Mariah taking in a huge breath. I can do this, she told herself internally. I need you to just listen because I don't think I could ever repeat this again. You may even have to tell my mom and dad what happened. Are you good with that? "Mariah" I can do anything you need me to do. Like I said, I'm not going anywhere. I've loved you too long, to just walk away.
