Chapter 11 Moving On!

What are you doing in the house? Mariah enquired. Your mom sent me in here to find her bag said Tessa. But I don't think it's here. It's not said, Mariah. How do you know that? asked Tessa. Mom didn't have a bag on her tonight said Mariah sheepishly. I think we've been set up by our moms. Why would they do that? asked Tessa a little flustered. They obviously think it's about time, we talked it out said Mariah. Are you scared of that? Not at all said Tessa abruptly. Well, let's sit down on the sofa and try and work this out then said Mariah. Trying to organize as usual. They sat there for what seemed like hours, in complete silence. Tessa feels like they're not getting anywhere. Okay, this is ridiculous said Tessa taking the bull by the horns. One of us has to start talking. It was usually Mariah who took the first step. Do you feel confident enough to do that? Questioned Mariah nervously. Not really, but I am willing to try. Are you? Because Mariah, I have missed my best friend. I've been wanting to tell you, about all this stuff that's been going on. Like, my parents have given me the courage to pursue a music career. Oh wow! That's amazing said Mariah. I'm just about to apply to colleges and universities myself. 

You are a straight-A student, you won't have trouble getting in anywhere said Tessa smiling. Mariah smiled back. In the garden meanwhile. Well, they've not come back out yet. No, they haven't, and I've not heard any pots and pans being thrown either said Sharon grinning. So let's take that as a good sign. Finally said Gwen Let's hope everything turns out well. Oh I'm praying said Sharon. Let's go and get another drink said Gwen we deserve one. In the living room, Mariah asked Tessa if she was going to go to college or university. Do you know what, I have no idea at this point said, Tessa. I could go to musical college I guess. But I have no idea where that would be. I expect you've got yours all lined up. I want to go into PR, Marketing, and business. So I want to cover a wide range. But as soon as we break up next week, I will start my search said, Mariah. Sounds like you're going to have an exciting summer said, Tessa. I wouldn't call it exciting as such said Mariah. But it is important to me. "Mariah" I need to ask you an important question said Tessa getting all serious. Mariah looked into Tessa's eyes. Mariah took a really deep breath and exhaled slowly.

Ok, What do you want to ask me? Err, Tessa started to stammer trying to get the words out. "Tessa" It's okay. You can ask me anything, you know that. Mariah reached for Tessa's hand, without even thinking about it. Err okay, I'm sorry. It's just hard to get the words out said Tessa nervously laughing. Hey, come on. I'm your best friend, you can tell me anything remember? I know things have changed between us. But I will always be your friend Tessa. Mariah squeezed her hand to encourage her to speak. Okay, okay. Tessa's breath she told herself. I was wondering. Tessa took a deep breath again. It was when we woke up together, in the same bed a while back. You were horrified by it? You screamed what the hell! At me. Then after that, we just drifted apart. I kept my distance because I thought, you hated the fact that I woke up in your bed next to you said Tessa with a few tears running down her cheek. Hey, I was just really shocked to find you there, that's all. I didn't hate it said Mariah looking into Tessa's eyes. This feeling came over her, she wanted so badly to wipe Tessa's tears away. But she had no idea how Tessa was going to react if she did. Tessa had a deep desire come over her for Mariah too.

But she had no idea where this feeling had come from, or where it was going, but the next thing she knew she had her finger's in Mariah's hair and she was pulling her face towards hers. Tessa opened her mouth and engulfed Mariah's lips. Tessa didn't realize Mariah was overjoyed inside, that Tessa had made this bold move. She just went with the kiss. She didn't want Tessa to stop. She kissed Tessa back with the same force Tessa was kissing her. It was a hunger they both felt. When Tessa broke away, Mariah knew in Tessa's eye's that she had made a mistake, in kissing her. I err, I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry. I don't know why I just did that! Wow! I'm sorry. "Tessa" Mariah shouted and grabbed her hands. Tessa looked down at them clasped around hers. Tessa broke out of Mariah's grip. I err, I need to go back outside, Tessa stuttered. She turned around and left Mariah just standing there. What the hell am I supposed to do now? Thought Mariah. Am I supposed to just ignore what just happened? Mariah walked gingerly outside, after Tessa.
