Oh my god man! said Blake to Nick. I am so thrilled for you. I can't believe we're going to be dads together. Sharon and Gwen just cried. I can't believe you kept this from me said Sharon. Ditto said Gwen. Then she started to laugh. Why are you laughing? asked Sharon. I'm laughing because, when we used to video call one another, we were both sat there with cushions covering our bellies. I didn't want to say anything after losing the first two until I knew everything was okay with the baby. How far are you? asked Gwen. I'm twelve weeks said Sharon. I'm guessing you are further along? Why do you say that? asked Gwen. Well, your tummy looks way bigger than mine said, Sharon. We all shape differently apparently said Gwen. I'm actually the same as you. Twelve weeks! Oh, my said Sharon We are doing this together. How awesome is that? Pretty awesome said Gwen, Are you staying at home for the foreseeable now? No! said Blake we still have commitments in Los Angeles and a couple in Vegas. Yeah, said Gwen. My doctor has told me that I will be okay to travel until I'm about six months, which is the second trimester. I think. Then I have to stop. But I will be at home, on and off up until that point now.
Great, so we will have time to compare notes said Sharon. Of course, and at least we don't have to cover over our bumps on video calls anymore said Gwen laughing. Ladies, we love you dearly said Nick but us men are hungry. Can we order now? Sharon and Gwen both laughed. Sure, they said in unison. After food, there was a little lounge they could move to. So the ladies could be more comfortable sitting on sofas instead of upright chairs. The men ordered the ladies herbal teas, instead of coffee, while the men stuck to beer. They were going to share a cab home. After they got home, the ladies called it a night. The men, on the other hand, wanted to play pool in Blake's den. Are you sure you don't mind? asked Nick as he saw Sharon home and into bed. Nick, it's okay. You'll only be next door and I'm beat as is Gwen. Carrying a baby around is tiring. I will have the phone next to me if I should need you. But I'm hoping to fall fast asleep. Nick kissed her on the lips. Night he said as he exited the room. Night said Sharon as she gave out a big yawn. Nick only stayed for just over an hour.
He told Blake how hard it had been to lose two babies. And how much a warrior Sharon had been. Doing all the injections etc, she'd had to do. They never did play the game of pool. When Nick got in, he went up to their bedroom and got undressed in the bathroom so that he wouldn't wake Sharon up. He slid into bed without her stirring. They both had the best night's sleep they'd had in a long while. Sharon slept so well, it was gone nine before she woke up. What the hell! Screamed Sharon. Nick woke up startled by what had happened. "Sharon" What's going on? Are you okay? He asked a bit taken aback. I'm fine said Sharon. Thank god for that said Nick. Will you please stop screaming out? I keep thinking something serious is going on. You scared me to death. I'm so sorry said Sharon but it's gone nine o'clock. We should both be at work. Calm down said Nick. I can't calm down said Sharon I need to get up and go to the coffee house. No, you don't said Nick. I presumed we would have a late night, so I told my PA I would not be in until later, and I also got Mandy to cover for you until you go in. Also, he leaned over and kissed her. Good morning. Good morning to you too said Sharon as she started to calm down a bit.
Err, it's also about time you told Mandy what is going on with you said Nick. Especially now we've had the first scan. Yes. your right said Sharon and I can't keep wearing baggy jumpers for the next six months hoping no one will notice. We also need to tell our nearest and dearest. Do we have to? said Nick glumly. Yes said Sharon. But that means I have to tell my father. I know you don't have a good relationship with him, but may him knowing he has a grandchild coming, might help said Sharon with a grin on her face. Oh, I doubt that very much said, Nick. He has a heart of granite. Only where business is concerned said Sharon. You and he just don't work well together. But they have the right to know we're having a baby. I feel so guilty though said Nick. Why? asked Sharon. You don't have a family to tell said Nick. No, but I do have my staff and other friends I can tell. And the best bit is, I get to go through the rest of my pregnancy with my best friend who's also pregnant. I may not have a family to speak of, but I do have loads of friends and people who care about me. You do said Nick you are a very likable person. He kissed her on the cheek.
