Tessa had let a couple of weeks go by before she plucked up the courage to talk to Sally. The new girl in her guitar class. Hi said Tessa casually. Hi said Sally. You play the guitar very well said Tessa timidly. Awe, thanks very much said Sally smiling shyly. Can you teach me some of those chords you're using? asked Tessa I've not seen them being played like that before. Haven't you? questioned Sally. I was taught them a long time ago, by my grandfather. He must have been good too? said Tessa, trying not to run out of things to say to Sally. Now that she had managed to overcome her fear of talking to her. He was very good said Sally. He had the patience of a saint when he started to teach me. I kept getting all the chords wrong to start off with. They both laughed. I too said, Tessa. My dad sort of taught me a little. But my main teacher was in my school. He was brilliant. I kept a lot of my singing and playing to myself. Why did you do that? asked Sally warming to Tessa. Oh err, both my parents sing, and like I said my dad plays guitar. So I guess I was a bit afraid of their opinion. If that makes sense? Your parents sound amazing said Sally.
Oh, they are said, Tessa. I'm very lucky to have their full support, in everything I do. Whereabouts are you from? asked Sally being inquisitive. Oh, I come from a place called Genoa City it's in Wisconsin said Tessa a little overcome, by Sally's questions. I come from Los Angeles said Sally. I was late getting started on the course because I had family issues to deal with. Tessa noticed Sally's voice had turned a little aggressive. I hope it wasn't anything too serious. said, Tessa. Nothing I couldn't handle said, Sally. Tessa could tell Sally could look after herself. Right well, we'd better do a bit of practice, before all our classmates come in said Sally. I suppose your right said Tessa a little sad. Maybe we could meet for coffee or something? said Sally. Okay, yes that would be wonderful said Tessa. They settled down and started to practice. Tessa was doing sideways glances all the time at Sally. She couldn't wait to go on their coffee date! Mariah mean while in Los Angeles was spending more and more time in Devon's company. She noticed she missed him if they didn't have the same class together.
Elena had started to see the attraction. She asked Mariah in the restroom one day if she had a thing for Devon. Ooh, err, Mariah was at a loss for words. I know you like him said Elena. But I'm just asking if you feel it's more than that. I really don't know what to say said Mariah feeling a bit overwhelmed by the question, Elena was asking her. I like Devon as a friend. I've not thought of him as dating material. She added with a little smile, and feeling a little embarrassed she felt that way about him. I think he likes you a lot too if that helps said, Elena. I think you two would be good together. Do you really think so? questioned Mariah. I do said Elena smirking. We'd better get back to class said Mariah a little red-faced. It was the first time, she felt like she could open up, and tell someone about Tessa, and the little kiss that they'd had. You okay? queered Elena. Yeah, why? asked Mariah feeling a little flushed. Oh, I don't know, you look like you want to say more. But your holding back from me said Elena a little concerned, that whatever it was that Mariah was holding onto, was quite significant for her to say. Maybe one day, I can get her to open up a bit about it. Thought Elena as they left the restroom and went back to class.
Elena later told Devon her concerns. These two had become like brother and sister to one another, over their time at UCLA. It's still not going to stop me plucking up the courage, to ask her to go out with me said Devon with a determined look on his face. I'm sure it won't said, Elena. I know you like her a lot. I just wanted you to know, I feel like there's something she's holding onto, that she finds difficult to talk about. I promise I will have my guard up said Devon. How long are you going to take, before you ask her out? asked Elena. Only, you've been thinking about it since day one. I know! I know! You don't have to rub it in. I just can't seem to find the right moment said Devon a little embarrassed about the situation. Awe, come on Devon. It's easy. Just walk up to her and ask. Do you want to come on a date with me? said Elena It's either going to be a yes or a no. I do know that, thank you said Devon sternly. Well, get on with it then said Elena. I don't know what you're waiting for. Devon huffed, at Elena's words ringing in his ears, as he went back to his room. And thought about what she had said.
