Chapter 5 Two Months Are Up!

Today's the day, said Nick cheerfully in the kitchen while he made the coffee. It is said Sharon a little tense. They will see plenty of eggs, don't worry said Nick. You're very positive about that said Sharon. I'm just being a little more cautious. I don't want to get my hopes up to high. I understand that said Nick wrapping his arms around her and kissing her neck. But you'll see once we get to the clinic, everything will be fine and the injections have done their job. I have everything crossed your right said Sharon trying to smile. Right, what time do we have to be there again? asked Nick. Let me check, said Sharon getting hold of her phone. It says ten. I'll go and have a quick shower and get dressed then said Nick. You do that said Sharon I'm all done and ready to go. She went into the living room and sat down on one of the sofas. "Alexa" Play some soothing music, please. Sharon sat there in a daze, sipping her coffee trying to cleanse her mind of all the negative thoughts going on in her brain right now.

Why is Nick always the optimist and I'm always the pessimist? Thought Sharon to herself, while she was sitting there. Great music, said Nick as he came to sit next to her. She hadn't even heard him come back down. He startled her because she was in deep thought. I'm sorry said Nick I didn't mean to scare you. It's okay said Sharon I was in deep thought that's all. I never heard you come back down. Wow! Your mind was away with the fairy's said, Nick. I made loads of noise when I came back down. I even asked you if you'd like some more coffee. Really? questioned Sharon I must have been out of it. Nick looked at her, worrying if she was alright. Why are you staring at me? asked Sharon. I err, was just wondering if you're okay. said Nick I know things must be going through your mind. But, never forget, whatever happens, we're in it together. We will have kids. Nick wrapped her in his arms again. They left the house at half past nine. What with the traffic and finding a parking spot at the hospital, they were running five minutes late.

This made Sharon very flustered, she hatted running late for anything. I told you we should have left at nine screamed Sharon out of nowhere. Now we're running late, I hope they don't cancel my procedure now! "Sharon" Shouted Nick. It will be okay. You've been on edge all morning. Do you blame me? asked Sharon as they hurried in. This is one of the most important days of our married life. And instead of me being all calm and collected. I'm a hot, rushed mess. It's going to take me a few minutes to calm down. Luckily for them, when they got to the receptionist. She told them, that it was okay. Because the clinic they needed was running half an hour late, due to one of the doctors being called away to do an emergency surgery on someone. Oh err, I'll have a coffee, please. They sat there, looking out of a huge window onto some beautiful gardens. Which started to calm Sharon down. 

I'm sorry I've been so hot-headed this morning said Sharon and Snappy. Give yourself a break said Nick I understand why you would be like that. It's been a big deal to get to this point. And you've had to do all the work to get here. So all the pressure has been on you. He reached out to hold her hand. I'm here to be your punch bag, and your moral support okay? Okay said, Sharon. Thanks for putting up with me. They both smiled at one another. Mr and Mrs Newman, come with me please said a nurse. Once they were in the room, Dr Nate came in. Hi guys, how's it been? The injections have gone well said Sharon. No problems or after-effects from the hormones. That's good said Dr. Nate. But, I will also be glad when today is over, and we see how many eggs you manage to retrieve said Sharon. What about you Mr Newman? asked Dr. Nate.
