All three got into the back of the limo. Wow! This is very fancy said Tessa nervously laughing. Trying to break the ice. Yeah, I wanted to make it a special evening said Devon reaching for Mariah's hand. And it was said Mariah. That song you sang was amazing Tessa. I'm glad you liked it said Tessa blushing. The limo pulled up outside Tessa's house. Devon got out and opened the door for her. But Mariah got out too! I thought you were coming back to mine. queered Devon. I'm sorry, I've changed my mind. I have a lot on at work tomorrow. She leaned in and kissed Devon. Thanks for a lovely evening. I'll see you to the door said Devon. No need said, Mariah. Tessa can do that. Tessa looked at her with a startled look on her face. Devon got back in the limo not very happy. He was hoping to get his leg over tonight! He pulled out his phone, looked down the list of contacts, and phoned Hillary. I'm coming over, is all he said. Are you sure you want me to see you home? questioned Tessa. As they both watched the limo drive away into the distance. Yes, I do said, Mariah. No one is home at the moment. Our parents and our sisters all went home together.

My mom told me they were all going back to your parent's house. Not only that. I need to speak to my best friend in private. Is that okay with you? Tessa swallowed hard. Err yes okay, no problem said Tessa stuttering her words. They entered Mariah's parents' house in silence. Would you like a drink? asked Mariah after she'd closed the door behind them. I'll have some water, please. Maybe with some lemon if you have it? Is that it? I thought at least you'd join me, in a glass of cold crisp white wine. said Mariah a little taken aback, by Tessa's order. I'll have water first, please. I have to protect my voice. I may then join you in a glass to celebrate a great concert. Okay, I can live with that. I'll go get it all now. You make yourself comfy on the sofa said Mariah before she went off to the kitchen, to get what Tessa had requested. Tessa meanwhile settled down on the sofa, as ordered by Mariah. Mariah returned with a whole white wine bottle in an ice bucket! But she had managed to find a lemon. So she handed Tessa her water. Oh, that's really good on the back of my throat, where my vocal cords are. Thank you said Tessa putting the glass down on the table in front of them.

She turned to face Mariah. What is going on? asked Tessa I thought you'd be going back with Devon, to his place tonight. I think he thought that to said Mariah I'm sure he'll be okay. She started to tear up. Tessa instinctively moved closer to Mariah, when she could see she was getting upset. Hey, hey. What's going on? Tessa opened up her arms. Mariah fell straight into them. She stayed there for a while, sobbing. Tessa helped her to wipe away the tears when she finally stopped. Oh god, look at the state of your dress, Kyle is going to kill me. Tessa looked down, there were black mascara marks, and foundation cream on it. Don't worry, we'll get it cleaned before it goes back said Tessa. Don't worry about it now. I'm more worried about why you burst into tears. Talk to me, please. Tessa pleaded with her. Has it got to do with why you didn't want to go home with Devon? Is he hurting you? Because I'll kill him if he is. I'm thankful you want to be my protector said Mariah trying to smile. Always said Tessa being a little bashful. Mariah grabbed Tessa's hand. 

No, he's not hurting me physically. But, I do think he's seeing someone else other than me! What makes you think that? asks Tessa looking down at Mariah's hand in hers. I smelt perfume on him when we went to dinner the other night. And it wasn't mine! I think it's a woman named Hillary. Does she work at Hamilton Winters? I could go and find out, who she is for you. Put my detective hat on. You'd do that for me? "Mariah" You should realize by now, that I would do anything for you. You deserve the world. They were both staring into one another's eyes. Tessa wanted to say she loved her. But the moment soon disappeared, when Tessa found herself twiddling with Mariah's hair. From there she touched Mariah's face. Mariah was leaning into her touch. Tessa stopped and pulled away. Please, don't stop said Mariah in a sultry voice. "Mariah" If we go there, we can never go back said Tessa fit to burst, that this was actually happening. What about Devon? I don't want to go back said Mariah putting Tessa's hand back onto her face. I want you! Tessa slowly put her other hand onto Mariah's other cheek.
