Two weeks went by very slowly. Mariah lasted one night alone in the shoebox before waking up in her old bedroom refreshed. After, last night, having a turbulent time in the shoebox being woken up by every sound. She realised she didn't like being on her own in unfamiliar places. Well, you look better than when you arrived said Sharon. Did you have a good sleep? Of course, I did Mom. We have the sofa bed now. But it's still not as comfy as that bed up there. She pointed to the ceiling. When I get woken by something, I also have no one to cuddle up to.  I know all the noises in this house, so I slept like a log. I will try and sleep at the shoebox now and then. It just won't be all the time, until Tessa gets back from tour. You will be off to see her in New York before you know it said Nick as he siled into the kitchen, with his coffee cup in his hand. I can't wait to get on the plane said Mariah. And it's only been just over twenty-four hours since she left. At least when we have kids, I'll have company at home. That's if she does a tour again. Nick and Sharon both laughed out loud.

"Company"? said Nick sarcastically. You do know what you're letting yourself in for when you have kids? A bunch of sleepless nights. Interjected Sharon. And you want to cope with that on your own? said Nick a little astonished. Can you remember at all, what you and Cassie were like growing up? We won't be having twins Dad said Mariah stubbornly. You don't know that said Sharon. I certainly didn't when I got pregnant with you and your sister. It was a total shock. I can still remember your Dad's face when he looked at the ultrasound. I nearly fainted said Nick. We didn't plan for two of you! It was a mad rush after that, to get everything ready in time for you and Cassie's arrival. I remember said Sharon it being madness for a few weeks. But we wouldn't want it any other way. Nick and Sharon grinned at one another. So, you might not have twins said, Sharon. But a baby is a lot of work. "Mom" I'm sure it is. But I will cross that hurdle when I have to said Mariah. Feeling like she didn't need this conversation right now. She phoned Tessa later and relayed the conversation she'd had with Sharon.

I know that you'll be a great Mom when the time comes said Tessa encouragingly. You really think so said Mariah, feeling like she needed reassurance. Of course, I do. I think I will be too said Tessa. We need the house finished before we can talk any more about having kids though. I hope it's done, by the time you get back said Mariah. Oh, I don't know about that, said Tessa. I want them to take their time, and do a good job for us. Mariah's heart sank. You mean, we might have to stay in the shoebox when you get home? said Mariah very disheartened. "Mariah" I never said the house would be finished, by the time I get home said Tessa. That was all you. So if you think we will be going into full-blown parenting mode when I get back. You may have to rethink a little. I want us to be both on the same page when we start to think about kids. And at the moment all I can think about is this big tour I'm about to embark on and finish. I can't wait to meet all the fans.

And in a couple of weeks, show you around New York City where I went to Uni. "Mariah" Tessa shouted down the phone. Are you still there? Mariah was taking a moment, to wipe away the tears, after what Tessa had just said had upset her. Err yeah, I'm still here. she said in a croaky voice. You okay? asked Tessa knowing that she had been crying. I will be said, Mariah. "Mariah" Just know, I want kids with you more than anything. I just want to be in the house and settled, before we do that. I know you may have wanted that sooner. And I'm sorry if I upset you, with what I said. I don't mean to hurt you by what I say said Tessa feeling the situation. Okay said Mariah quietly. I can appreciate what you are saying to me. And I can't wait to see you in New York and have my own personal tour guide. Fast forward, to Mariah entering the plane. knowing she would be in Tessa's arms again in a few hours. The only downside was Tessa had a concert she had to do tonight. It's okay though, Tessa had told her. Because Afterwards, we get a couple of days off.

Before we have to move to Florida. Mariah was also excited to see Tessa in concert for the first time. Tessa was pacing the arrivals hall at JFK, two hours before Mariah's plane was due to land. I can't believe I misjudged the arrival time by so much said Tessa to herself. I need to go and find somewhere to sit and have a mocktail or something. I can't drink because I have a show to do tonight. She watched Mariah's lane move up the arrivals list until eventually, it said landed. She couldn't wait to have her in her arms again. It had only been three weeks, but it felt like a lifetime ago. The first thing she saw, was Mariah's beautiful red hair come floating towards her. Hello, wife said Mariah as she reached her. Tessa just pulled in her face, for a massive kiss. Hi said Tessa a little subdued. I have missed you so much. Me too said, Mariah. Have you another bag? queered Tessa looking at the small suitcase. No, just this one and the rucksack on my back. I am only here for the weekend. I know said Tessa. It's a shame I have to work tonight. It's okay said Mariah. I have a surprise for you. Oh, I love surprises said Tessa as they made their way to where the limo was. That was picking them up.
