Plot:
> In the 1980s at the shore of Japan, Thomas Curry finds an injured woman washed ashore after a fearsome storm. After helping her, she introduces herself as Atlanna, a queen from a mythological kingdom hidden in the sea, Atlantis. They fell in love until Atlanna gave birth to a son named Arthur Curry a year later. But all those sweet memories are gone after The Atlantean armies attack her home and kill Thomas. To protect her son, Atlanna is forced to give herself up responsibility for her past rebellious actions. But Atlanna secretly entrusts her man, Nuidis Vulko to raise Arthur while training him to use his ability. Years later, Arthur grew up in Amnesty Bay as Vulko brought him to immigrate from Japan to avoid Atlantis's influences. Arthur uses his ability for good and gains fame from the locals as a superhero called Aquaman, especially after the attack of Parademons weeks ago. However, he's still wondering about his origin since Vulko barely tells about it. In Atlantis, King Orm is discussing with the Xebelian king, Nereus, about declaring war on the surface. This similar ideology soon leads the two kingdoms to unite their forces while Nereus proposes to Orm to marry her daughter, Mera. Mera refuses as she's against their visions. But owing to the low power she had, Mera was forced to escape and hide somewhere they couldn't ever reach. Mera was found stranded at Amnesty Bay's harbor by the fisherman. Her presence soon caught Vulko's attention and he brought her to his house.> Once Vulko introduces Mera to Arthur, Mera tells them news of King Orm's plan and her intention to seek a worthy king to replace his role of tyranny. Vulko believes that Arthur is the excellent choice but Arthur refuses due to the ignorance of Atlantis. Unwillingly, Vulko broke Atlanta's promises by telling Arthur the truth to make things clear. Arthur now learns all about his origin and his mother's legacy but he was unsure of his capability as a half-breed. Vulko insists that's precisely what's special about Arthur and that could potentially make Atlantis better with his good and loveable heart. Arthur accepts its offer and Mera begins to tell her plan. Vulko tells Arthur about the story of Susanoo, the Shinto God of sea and storms. The legend mentions that his spirit rests in an unknown location in the Japanese ocean and is guarded by the mythological Dragon of the sea, Ryujin. Mera believes if Arthur were to obtain his trident that Atlantis would look up to Arthur as their ruler. In Atlantis, King Orm hears Mera's plan from his spy that he hires two mercenaries, David Hyde and his father, Jesse, to hunt him. The two are equipped with the latest Atlantean tech, customizing it to suit their needs. Arthur and Mera arrive in Japan and start their journey. Traversing the map route and exploring ancient Atlantean ruins from historical relics, the two have finally found their location. Mera finds Arthur intriguing and starts developing a crush on him. But as she tries to dig deeper into him, Arthur deflects any questions.
> The pair eventually arrive at the location but are met by David's pirate group named "Black Manta" who reveals has been tracking them. Mera uses her hydrokinesis to hold them, allowing Arthur to take hold of the trident. Arthur dives deeper and encounters the Ryujin who questions his presence. Ryujin tests Arthur for his heart's purity which managed to prove after a short fight. As Arthur's hands come in contact with the weapon, he sees a flash of memories of the past Atlantean ruler until it stops at his mother's vision, leaving a message that he will make the right decision whatever that may be. Arthur returns with the trident and new orange and green suit before going to help Mera. He causes a quake to surround them before intercepting pinning his trident to David but blocked by his father. Horrified, David ejects the trident from his father's body and makes a tactical retreat. With all problems solved, the two return to face King Orm who sarcastically welcomes them. Arthur challenges him for the duel for the throne which Orm arrogantly accepts due to believing his upper hand training by the royal general from birth. The battle begins and the two are evenly matched, surprising Orm which causes him to fight at his best. Whilst they fight, Arthur, reveals he was secretly trained by Vulko. This fractures Orm's will that he begins taunting "their" mother which surprises Arthur as he learns Orm was his half-brother. Orm takes this chance to attack Arthur while he's off guard but he manages to deflect it and counter Orm. Arthur is going to execute Orm by standing his trident upon Orm's throat. But this was prevented by the sudden presence of their mother, Atlanna, who's Mera secretly freed from Atlantis's prison. Atlanna forgives all his son's dictatorship but his responsibility needs to be paid by imprisoning him.
