Plot:
> Bruce Wayne, a billionaire, and philanthropist of Gotham City have watched his city as its protector, Batman. Almost 10 years in action have made Bruce face many threats, one of which is his greatest nemesis, The Joker. However, after the death of his former protege, Jason Todd, Joker has never seen again. Bruce, who keeps blaming himself, has tried many times to seek Joker for revenge. Alfred Pennyworth, his long-life butler, begins worrying about his mental condition as he starts to lose his identity as a vigilante who fights for justice. He often advises him to break despite his refusal with arguments if the city still needs his protection. Until the day when Bruce held a small dinner for his birthday, his sidekick, Barbara Gordon, aka Oracle, suggests that Bruce should hold a charity event to celebrate this to better this city while he can also take a rest for a while as Batman. Bruce accepts it and starts to devise a plan to donate a few of his money to support Arkham Asylum and its facilities. 6 months after the program went by, Gotham has been relatively low. Bruce now can have a rest, but this period also triggered a new threat. Arkham psychologist, Doctor Hugo Strange is doing research on the obsession for Batman during his hiatus. But he couldn't finish his plan earlier due to the lack of information on Batman. Hugo then hires Edward Nygma, a former Wayne Techs employees-turning villain known as The Riddler. He uses his power and intellect to free Nygma from Arkham Asylum which is untraceable from GCPD> In the next few nights, Catwoman is stealing some jewelry before noticing Nygma's movement in breaking Wayne Enterprises. She sneaks to stop the few gangs and interrogates one of them before the other catches her. After escaping with Nygma's plan, Catwoman, as Selina Kyle invites Bruce for a short dinner to tell him what's going on. Bruce can't stay still so he decides to return to take his cowl to stop Hugo. The next night, Bruce hears the news of Nygma capturing a few GCPD officers including Barbara's father, Commissioner Jim Gordon. Alfred forbids Bruce from doing his action due to his condition. But Bruce keeps insisting which leads the two to an argument until Alfred gives in. Bruce reunites with Selina as Batman and Catwoman to stop him. But just before they start, Riddler had already set a trap that split Bruce and Selina away. Bruce had no other choice but to solve the riddles with Oracle and Alfred's help before suddenly getting trapped again and gassed unconscious. Bruce then awakes in Arkham Asylum with Hugo Strange before him that calls his real name. He is confused about how Hugo uncovers his secret identity before questioning Bruce about his ideology about justice which slowly attacks him mentally. As it gets tougher, Hugo starts to use his plan B. He shows Bruce on the monitor how he's taking both Selina and the GCPD officers hostage brutally. Selina is tortured by the psychopath Victor Zsasz while the GCPD is going to be eaten by Killer Croc one by one. Given a one-hour countdown, Bruce was in the dilemma about whether he should save Selina or the officers before deciding to do both.
> Bruce headed to save Selina and beat Zsasz in place. Seeing a few minutes left, the two are hurrying to the sewer of Killer Croc's lair. But as they nearly reached them, the sewer unexpectedly exploded and left the officers, including Jim Gordon, dead. In his unstable mental condition, Bruce mourns in sorrow. Oracle cries in shock at its terrifying accident. Killer Croc is out from the explosion smoke arrogantly while mocking Batman in front of him. However, things are turned around as Bruce launches a sudden attack on Croc, leaving him beaten due to his underestimation. The next day, everyone is attending Jim's funeral. Bruce later was depressed in his cave and recalled flashbacks of his parent's murder, seeing both incidents as his fault. Alfred approaches to calm him down and motivates him by reminding him how many times he had gotten up from his pain during his career. Bruce finally takes Alfred's advice to take a break and quell his anger while he's researching and investigating Hugo Strange's profile with Oracle from in and outside. Bruce learned a few things: Hugo Strange has an unknown mental illness and an odd obsession with experimenting on humans, therefore he got his "Strange" surname. His whole plan was to torture Batman mentally, especially after learning he was in an identity crisis after his great loss. And some unknown files had diagnosed him as being probably cannibalistic.
